Paul Smith has said on twitter that he believes Khan will be a 'different animal' at 147. Expecting him to have a better chin etc. I disagreed and he tried to slaughter me saying i was talking bollocks.

Tell me if this is a load of pish, do you think that fighters who are weight drained show different signs of poor resistance than a guy who simply just doesnt have a chin? Thats basically what i said. Anyone agree or am i on my own here?

Id expect Khans stamina to go if he had been weight drained or get dropped with body shots. I wouldnt expect a weigh drained fighter to do chicken dances 3 and 4 rounds into fights unless he just simply had poor punch resistance that would follow him through his career.

Anyone in agreement? Simply for my own satisfaction. Lol

Smith can be a dick. Khan certainly didn't look more durable getting dropped and rocked by Julio Diaz when he moved up a bit.

Khan is the busier and is stealing the rounds but big schoolboy error. He is circling onto collazos strong left hand, I think khan will walk onto one as collazo is planting his feet. The writing is on the wall. Khan will get tko'd in about 9 rounds.

Yeah wide margin - 117 - 106 119-104.. I had it wrong , had voted for a Collazo KO based on his last performance.

Thanks for the scores.....been on Results now. I won't get chance to see it for a few days probably - what were the Knockdowns like?

Mayweather - Khan next?? It has to be, surely. It's what Amir's wanted for ages, a $20m payday, and it works for Mayweather too as it keeps him out the way of that dangerous looking Phillipino! :box:

Well it was a bit silly how so many people jumped on a Collazo win by ko when he's not a puncher and isn't even really an aggressive fighter.

I think it was at the beginning of this thread I said Khan should be to skilled and quick and people were putting far to much into the Victor Ortiz win for Collazo.

That coupled with the dislike for Khan skews people's ability to judge Khan properly. Fact is he's unbelievably talented. The kind that Britain rarely produces. Obviously the chin problem is always a worry, but Luis Collazo wasn't really ever the kind of fighter to exploit it.

Riddick Blowe wrote:It's quite extraordinary how the line has shifted on this fight. People have been shovelling money on Collazo today. For good reason.

As it stands, Khan is best priced at 1/2.
Collazo is best priced at 2/1.

This is compared to Vic Chandler opening the market at 5/1 Collazo and something like 1/7 Khan.

Flabbergasting.

Turns out the GALA EVENING OF FREE MONEY attracted such a good turnout, the bookies are now balking.
I arks you though, there is still time to do the right thing and bet on Collazo. Covering several round bets is probably best value at this stage.

Paddy are still going 11/1 on Collazo rounds 7-12! Value city. If Khan lasts that long.
I hope all the idiots who listen to you put huge amounts on :TU: on the button again Blow

I thought Khan would win too, but acting like people are 'twisted' or 'bitter' just because they picked the losing boxer is ridiculous. Collazo was overrated (I said it before in this thread if any of you think I'm being wise after the matter), but I don't think it was was unreasonable to predict that he'd win.

This happens after every high profile fight; people act smug (I remember a few really bad examples after Froch-AA) because other people didn't predict the fight correctly, as if they have never gotten fights wrong themselves.

Khan boxed brilliantly - and whilst I lost a dink on it, to be honest at the end I'd given up with the foolish and unprofessional approach of Luis Collazo.

Cagey, crafty, sneaky, strong, a bogeyman, a veteran - no, last night the word I would call Collazo was a muppet.

Good to see Amir keep his focus (and stamina) for a full twelve rounds and put in a shift that he can brag about - when the night is remembered overall, Khan looked good, Mayweather looked bad - and as a result it could now be a viable fight than a complete joke as it was previously regarded.

Did Collazo flatter him? possibly. But credit where it's due because he got the job done.

PS- if he thinks he can hold against Mayweather, and push him - then he is very mistaken, that element of his game is still pants and when you fight Floyd, you fight the ref too - and they will dock him points without fail.

Otherwise, very good.

Every single fight going back as far as his days fighting for domestic baubles at lightweight, a certain pair come out with the exact same bullshit for every Khan fight. It's interminable, it's mean-spirited, it bears no relation to consensus reality & after you've read it, oh, a dozen times on here it gets fvcking boring really quickly.

Nearly every fight they are proved wrong, & that their ridiculous anti-Khan bias is just... Well, a ridiculous anti-Khan bias. If the pudenda in question didn't hoot so much, if they didn't denigrate the fighter in question so much, if they didn't pompously talk up every single fighter he faces with snide comments in the environs that "So & so is a proper fighter & proper fighters beat Khan by default because you see he isn't a proper fighter"...

Well, maybe just then I'd have some time for your playground nose-thumbing, crusader.

But I haven't, because I have read Riddick Blowe's pudendum like appraisals of Khan ever since the lad came out the Olympics.

So, yeah, I'm wise after the fact. But I tell you this: I'll be wise after the fact RE: Blowe & Khan, because I'd rather be wise after the fact & fair to a very good, exciting British fighter than be a boring fvcking one-note near-troll for deep-seated psychological reasons that the dude in question obviously can't face--& I make that final reference just because he has never once confronted his own dislike of the fighter, given the boy credit, admitted he was ever wrong or in any way acted as anything less than a deluded fuckhead regarding Khan, & frankly his hysterical hatred that comes pouring out every time he writes about him (the glee he takes in seeing him get hurt, the sneering questioning of his legitimacy as a fighter & also as a man that he delights in dropping in every time he mentions the boy's name) makes it very easy indeed to see other reasons behind his vehemence & his prejudice.

So. Yeah. Check where you're at before you come steaming in, desperate to put the parochial fan-base back in its place. Or you know, use the fuckin' search function & find out why people might react a certain way to a certain (bunch of) poster(s) when it's "that time" again.

No. There is a deep streak of anti-Khanism amongst certain posters in this thread. One could put two & two together, because as I said they obviously don't like him but cannot admit in public that this is so, cloaking their bias in "Oh I don't mind the lad really" platitudes then the moment that they can they go straight back to putting the knife in.

Such obviously--well, shall we say motivated? Yes, I think that's about right, "motivated"--such obviously motivated behaviour, kept up for fvcking years now, when it's kept up at such a fever pitch that the dude in question once called me a fuckin' moron for daring to mention that Barrera would be too old, too small, too fat & too shot, when such behaviour is exhibited & the individual in question cannot come out & just fvcking say "I don't like him" but insists every single time that "Oh he's all right, I just happen to blindly root against him, write thousands of words disparaging him & have had a years-long obsession with the kiddy"...

Well, people are gonna draw conclusions.

Well done to Khan, he sank my bet decisively.

I thought it was a career best performance from him because of the inactivity, moving up in weight and being so disciplined for twelve rounds. I agree with others that Collazo underperformed and that he was also flattered by the Ortiz win.

Khan boxed well. Better than he has for some time.

Collazo was never in the fight. Didn't seem to have much in his punches.

Collazo was hypnotized by khans hand speed and movement last night. Collazo wasn't over rated, khan took to the weight better than expected and has improved well under hunter. He absolutely took collazo apart, he was getting hit and by the time he realised he was already eating the follow up shots.

Yup, there's some sore heads and empty pockets on here this morning. Khan was just too quick and slipped into the weight like a glove. Too bad he couldnt force the stoppage (had a little but of change on it) to really make a statement but overall it was an impressive performance against what some thought was huge stumbling block in Luis.
