Interesting enough for me to check it out! Thanks! Love the prospects.
No wucken furries mate.
If you had asked me about Fa a couple of years ago, I would have said don't bother. Since then he has moved to America, got into a lot better shape, taken his boxing as a career, managed to make a buck in sparring, and is more active.
While I doubt we are talking about a future #20 HW, ya never know.
All those island boys seem to have a decent chin at least.
fa too? he was hurt by a 1-1-1 opponent a few years ago though havent seen much snce. heard he was poor vs sam and tai.
though he did blast out some padded record usa guy last time (who then lost his next match by 1st round stoppage as well)
Hey, your right. I don't hold any high hopes for Fa, he is ranked by boxrec at mid 50's, maybe he can skirt the top #30-40.
Lewis I haven't seen anything of. I will get to see the fight as they are showing it live on TV. Let you know how he goes.

I know he doesn't get much of a mention here, but Junior Fa is fighting Craig Lewis on the 10th.
Going from "needs to train more" to "he's looking fit" Junior Fa could be one of those slow burner prospects who may surprise.
We will see on the 10th..
Saw the Fa fight. I see two things:
1 - I can totally see one putting him on a top prospect list merely because of his size and potential
2- He is not well schooled (yet?) and I doubt he goes much further unless he takes the Tye Fields approach to matchmaking.
I'm glad I watched. All I kept saying during the fight was, Plod, Punch, Hold. I actually thought the fight was closer to a draw than a clear cut decision against a questionable opponent.
Enough for me to see how he progresses his next fight. Just thought I'd follow up. be well!

Dubois physically looks the real deal, but I have doubts he is going to be quite as good as some make out. He looks fairly standard in the training clips I've watched. Good, but if I were to watch Joshua do the same routine there's clear difference.
Of course he's 20 year old kid so has all the time he needs to improve beyond recognition, but still
Nothing standard about Dubois... He's the next best Heavyweight after Joshua... His hand speed, power, and accuracy are unreal for a guy his size... If anything, his right hand is going to be better than AJ's when it's fully developed.

I have to say I agree. Dubois is (to me) the most interesting heavyweight not in the top 20. We'll be seeing him within a year or so against a solid journeyman unless he progresses at his current fast pace. This kid is for real!

I don't know who said that, but it's well overstated. this kid is for real, though, and for such a youngster he looks solid. (heavy heavy hands)

Ah...well, not sure I'd focus on his speed...he's quick with his hands but not particularly fast. But I love to watch him. He's giving angles and has no fear. It'll be fun to watch him grow. He's advanced for his age. Very advanced. No joke.

I like Dubois but he seems to be very stiff and slow...
Surely if he grows bigger and bulkier with age thats only going to get worse?
Strong as an ox and might be able to maul through most as long as his chin and stamina hold up, but i do wonder how he will do against some of the other british prospects (like HFury & Gorman) that are more fluid and will need chasing down.

I'm stating the obvious here, but Peter Milas now deserves to be considered a prospect of note. It's hard to tell how much the extremely brutal headbutt (but fighters were severely dazed by it) factored into his KO victory over Kevin Johnson. But either way, he is about to be one of the highest rated heavyweights 22 or under on boxrec after the ratings refresh.

I figure he's only twenty. So with the right team, he has the opportunity to learn a hell of a lot about boxing. Let's see when he's 22. Gorman and Fury are a bit more advanced (Fury a lot more), but Dubois makes for an interesting conversation.

No none mentions Oscar Rivas, although 30 (I think), it would be nice to see him step up (if the eye injury isn't serious). He can smack!

You've got to be kidding... He rips people out with his straight right like crazy.... It's a dead accuate shot... He even floored AJ in sparring with a quick lead... He has one of the quickest right leads ever seen in the division... I don't know what some people are looking at... Just because somebody is big doesn't make them slow... And look at his age.
When Tyson first came up everybody was raving about him... I said "Look at his height, size, and his defensive. As soon as he fights somebody big, tall, strong, skilled and fast he's getting his ass nailed to the canvas."

apparently everyone has floored aj in sparring, to the point where its not even impressive anymore. ffs lawrence okolie has rumors about him doing it too and hes an amateurish cruiserweight! not sure i buy the rumors either, saying you floored aj is just an easy way to get your name out there
dubois not fast, let alone unreal fast

joe parker has fast hands for example. wilder too. eddie chambers was legit quick too.
dubois to me is with a lot of ppl one of those cases where ppl go over the moon for someone and start saying they have every attribute under the sun. he doesnt have stand out speed at all.

This is a great post. It's easy to get carried away hyping a prospect you like. Dubois is plodding from what I've seen, I'd never call him fast handed either. Honestly he is riding the AJ train of young big black over muscled puncher and so people are doling out attributes as if they've got them all. He is not AJ. I'm not so sure he's even among the top of the British prospects; time will tell.

ya i agree, big strong young guy, but defo a bit lumbering and cumbersome, to fawn over his speed is just utterly bizarre

Yeah...he's promising but speed is not what I would associate with him.

I would... He's very fast. He's an athlete. He doesn't run or dance....is that what you mean??? Look at his opposition so far and look at Sirenko's... Dubois hasn't fought anyone with a losing record and he'll be ranked a lot sooner than the Ukrainian -- who I'm not discounting -- he's just not showing it at the moment and Dubois is.. It's kind of funny.. AJ won the Super Star Competition and easily won the sprints.. But he's slow... Frazier and Norton finished dead last and they were fast I guess..
I don't know what to say about some of the analysis here... Dubois is a dead solid lock to become a champion. And to say he's overly muscled??? ... He doesn't body build like Bruno did... His musculature fits his frame to a T... MOST guys are way under muscled... They look weak and they're slow as Hell... musculature moves your fame... I'm not saying he was a great Heavyweight, but was Tyson SLOW as a 21-year-old facing Michael Spinks??? .... Mike packed a rock solid 218 onto a 5'11" frame.. He said his best condition ever.. Foreman's best condition of his life packed 217 on a 6'3" frame.

hes not 'very fast' at all.
gushing about his speed reeks of just going over the top for him and giving him all sorts of abilities hes not showing. happens every so often when super hyped fighters come along, ppl just act like there good at everything and have no weaknesses when its not true at all.
omg a young big muscular black british guy! must be aj 2! and since kalan thinks ajs an amazing atg therefore dubois great too!

kalan in his posts just sees things totally differently, i actually dont value his retorts much because they tend to be so fanciful and so little based on reality

Oh you don't understand...turn off your 'serious' brain and laugh your ass off. It's completely predictable and narcissistic, not to mention down right mad.
