In the first two rounds, Jono looked fantastic. World beater. He got a bit sloppy after that, and let's face it, Quigg didn't bring much tonight.
of course kiwi quigg was shot no doubt about, but carroll did a job on him, i think he won every rd and stopped him,
True.
Sorry the late response, had to cook tea and watch the American card.
Yes it was a good win for Jono. I don't want to take that from him.
I just don't know how good it was, because Quigg wasn't really there. It looked like he had learned a few things from the Farmer fight, and was sitting down on more shots. But on the other hand, Quigg was right there to take them.

Funny seeing Carl working on a Hearn show given how much he supposedly hates him.

Great career Quigg can retire a proud man.

Not taking anything away from Carroll but he outboxed a man who was way past his best. Quigg can look back on a fantastic career with the only real question mark for me being the total no show in the Frampton fight.

Other than that fight he left everything in the ring and should enjoy retirement before it starts taking his faculties.

Feel sad for Quigg, quality fighter, heart of a lion, unfortunately time waits for no man.

A career to be proud of

Totally agree, a shadow of his former self but it happens in boxing - should have been stopped much earlier. Good performance from Carroll I must say.

Still, considering who he fought and for what, Quigg is perfectly justified in calling himself a "World Champion Boxer" - given there are 4. :brick:
There's more than 4 if each belt has a "Super" and "Regular" champion.
Rigondeaux was the WBA champion - Quigg never fought him.

I agree - WBA want shooting and Quigg shoulda fought Rigo. Not Quigg’s fault tho’- still entitled to call himself a “World Champ” imo.

Actually WBA ordered Quigg to fight Rigo. A regular belt is not supposed to be involved in a unification of a Super champion is around. But they allowed it as long as Frampton-Quigg winner would fight Rigo.

As we know, Frampton vacated, instead of fighting Rigo.

Plus, anything for Hearn to call Frampton-Quigg a unification fight.
