The Hearn hype train has always been huge but that is them doing their job well.
I remember fighting on a bill with the Delaney brothers and Georgie Smith, all decent fighters but I will have to dig out the programme, they were all being compared to hall of fame greats like SRL, Hearns and Hagler!

Smith has kicked about on the unlicensed scene for years. Don’t know if he’s still at it.

I think he had a few little fights, bit of fun really, always a big ticket seller, spars really, I remember he had an exhibition against Zammo off Grange Hill.
I don't think he ever had any proper fights.
In his day he could really fight but didn't live well and wasted his peak, when he did his unlicensed bit he had put on a lot of timber.

Never seen anything quite like it. Remember vividly Towers leaning over the top rope whilst being smashed around and saying “fornicating Hell!!!”

That was awful reffereeing, should have been stopped about three times.

I remember Towers vs Browne, the big Auzzie nearly knocked him over the top rope WWE style.

They were good, very good in fact domestic level but they were hyped as proper world champions in waiting and we kept being told that when one or more wins a proper world title, they will then fight each other.

Really these lot vs the likes of Tito, DLH, Mosley?

Takalo put in a worthy effort against Santos but was well beaten.
