What makes you think he reads the forum?
Because when this thread outed him as a bit of a fantasist for previous stories and potentially exaggerating his little fall recently, all of a sudden he started to tweet “proof” of his outlandish claims.

You seem very pro “Diamanté” mate, any particular reason ?
So you think it was this forum that made him show proof over the injuries rather than the people hounding him and people who backed him up on Twitter?

I’m not particularly pro Diamante. I quite like him as an announcer but I’m just giving my view on things as we all do.

I def got no prob with him as an announcer.

Whether he likes to tell stories or you think he is a prat doesn't have an impact on his announcing.

Fair enough :TU:

To be honest I don’t use Twitter so I’ve no idea what happened there. But is it much of a stretch to think that a big time ring announcer, who lets be fair comes across as a bit of a narcissist, would be all over a thread on a major boxing forum which he is the subject of ?

No - it’s not impossible but it’s very unlikely I think.

If you don’t use Twitter then you may not have seen the recent videos he posted but they demonstrate, in my opinion, that what he said about this latest incident was true.

He's all over social media, and "Boxing Twitter" is much much bigger than this place.
Same skepticism that's on here is rife on Twitter. That's what he would have seen and be responding to.

Hey doc, mind if you just introduce yourself into the camera so I can post it online after, cheers

All seems a bit odd :D

I’d imagine it’s not nice having people call you a liar when it’s something relating to your health.

God knows what people would have been saying to him on Twitter but just on this thread we’ve had suggestions that he was in rehab, saying it’s likely fake as he hasn’t put much about it on social given he loves attention, he has Münchausen syndrome, was a liar and was sick etc.

I can semi understand him wanting to document some evidence to support what he he’d been saying if he had been getting grief. No idea what he would have said to the doctors though to justify filming them!

He did look rather happy with his surgeon, who seemed happy to pose with his back from the dead client. It must be the same bloke who put his arm back on for him.

So you have multiple spinal fractures from being tall? Did he get the broken ribs from being tall too? I don’t think he had surgery on his knee - just ripped a load of the skin/tissue off which the video shows.

One of the doctors talks about him being on call when David arrived at the trauma bay at the hospital following a motorcycle accident. Is he in on the act too?
No proof of any spinal fracture - and if there were they were part of the surgery. In the USA they dish out surgery like sweets or at least advise you to have surgery when often not necessary. It makes the doctors much cash. Diamante had surgery on his back, inc the spine and bones, probably to straighten his spine so it’s natural to have the screws in there. My cousin lives in USA and he had a similar procedure. Which made no real difference just more pain and now he’s partially addicted to Vicodin and OxyContin. The US alleged health system is a grotesque profit making exercise
There’s a video on Diamante’s from the doctor who operated on him talking about ‘multiple fractures to his spine’. Is that not enough proof for you?

Absolutely not trusting any of these. Why is a professional doctor suddenly giving up his working hours being Diamnates PR manager lol? Imagine believing doctors don’t lie for money lol

If you believe Diamnates story esp with his past lies, you’re rather naive

I’ll choose to believe two doctors, who from a quick Google have solid reputations, over some random conspiracy theorists on Twitter. And you say I’m naïve.

You say there was no proof of any spinal fractures. He uploads videos from the doctors confirming what was wrong and what happened and you now imply the doctors are lying.

No - I don’t believe that. It may be true but I haven’t seen any evidence to suggest it is and I think it’s unlikely. As I said earlier on this thread it seems like it could well be a case of the boy who cried wolf.

I do believe 2 seemingly reputable doctors who’d have little to gain risking their reputation by lying about this. I’d pick believing them over some randoms on Twitter.

He’s probably not used to being filmed during an appointment!

There are 3 other videos (4 in total). You may have seen it already but the next one after the one is with him going through the before/after scans of the spine and discussing other things too. There’s nothing in front of him to head off. He does have his phone in his hand but I wouldn’t have thought he’d be reading from that.

Someone set up a poll.

Is David exaggerating his reported injuries?
Yes
No.

People on this thread were saying how it was weird it was that he hadn’t mentioned his accident/injuries much on social or in interviews so suggested it was likely fake.

He puts up a some pictures/videos to demonstrate the injuries he had, probably because a handful of people on Twitter said he was faking it all, and that’s now weird.

🥱

Nothing obsessive. I see something I disagree with on a boxing forum I use then I often post about it.

I’m also not taking his word on anything. When I form an opinion on something I try and take as much factual info as I can get and then decide what I think. I think it’s highly unlikely he’s got a seemingly highly respected orthopaedic surgeon (who’s on the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery) and a respected rehabilitation doctor to lie for him.

I’m more inclined to take their word on things than you diagnosing him with Munchausen Syndrome and saying he had surgery on his back because he’s tall and that these guys are lying. 👍

I’m neither mate - I work in finance so I’m very much numbers centric but try and get as much info on things as possible before making a decision and I’m always fine to review things/change my opinion if something else comes out. My wife’s a lawyer so perhaps the time I’ve spent with her has rubbed off on me.

I started off having no big reason to doubt Diamante. Whilst it’s not usual to return to work after 10 weeks following an accident like he described, it’s certainly possible with luck and hard work.

Then his previous comments came out re: his arm coming off or whatever it was so it made me think his recent stuff was unlikely. However him sharing the videos with the doctors/pics of the scars/injuries fully backed up what he said about his recent stuff.

He’s either lying about it and has got 2 seemingly well respected Doctors lying for him and faking scan results or he’s telling the truth. I don’t see why they’d lie and put their reputations into doubt for a not very well known guy solely for saying surnames twice.

Social media, particularly post covid I think, has created a world where some people, regardless of what evidence is presented, don’t believe what’s seen. They take a stance on something and regardless of what’s argued back they still think they’re right. It’s quite sad and one of the reasons I usually stay clear of most social media.
