Well then get your pens and typing fingers ready , because if Fury gets a ref , who stops him leaning on Usyk and then Usyk proves to quick and mobile , and who knows even gets to drop the big fella , THEN we will see a melt down and Fury already has the excuse , he's got mental issues , we know cos he's told us often enough ,, then we'll have his dads breakdown , on top , and after last weeks performance Usyk will probably be surrounded by Ukranian hard men hanging out to put the English in there place![]()

Re: Joshua on the mic
I saw some reel on instagram yesterday. I thought that’s aj? So I watched it. It was some guy giving him a skin fade. I mean boring but then I saw the caption. It was something like sorry the first half is missing, I was working away and he asked me “don’t you want to film me” so I said I wasn’t and he says no man so your thing.
So is that an insight into his daily life? Does he think everyone wants to film him buying chicken in Asda or getting his hair cut? Or is it just a throwaway comment with someone who is trying to get views.

Eddie Hearn feared Anthony Joshua would spark riot if he intervened in meltdown
Many fans questioned why a member of Joshua's team didn't put a stop to his speech, but Hearn thinks that would have made things worse. "Firstly, you talk about listening to peoples opinions. There are so many f***ing idiots out there who have got an opinion and go 'oh, I can't believe no-one went over to him and grabbed the microphone off him'. When he's in that mood, that would have been the worst thing," he said on the DAZN Boxing Show.

Mmmm , So Eddie is saying that AJ is'nt the nice guy he's making out he is , if his own mates and trainers are scared to aproach him or tell him he's foooking up ,, there must be a side to him that is'nt that nice ...Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 05:25 Eddie Hearn feared Anthony Joshua would spark riot if he intervened in meltdown

In fairness if you ain't got that nasty side you prob wouldn't be champ.
The vast majority do have it.
To reach far enough into your dark side to get through the training camp and fight and then be the blue eyed boy post fight is no easy ask.

Agreed - its what makes them get there.
People forget sports people are typically not that bright; they are just exceptional at boxing/football/cycling/tennis .. they spent their early years honing their sporting skills not being educated academically.
Re: Joshua on the mic
The consensus beforehand was that AJ needs to be more mean for this fight, he just got himself into that frame of mind.

Interesting article in boxing news on line by Elliott Worsell ( David Haye's brother in law) on Joshua's Post fight behaviour.
Worsell is of the opinion that Joshua was concussed. I think it is hard to disagree with that view. That's how he appeared to me as well. It reminded me of Bellew post Uysk fight.

Who don't reckon that Barry McGuigan has a dark side?

Why is it these days there always has to be a reason beyond the persons control to explain their behaviour?big lennox wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 11:25 Interesting article in boxing news on line by Elliott Worsell ( David Haye's brother in law) on Joshua's Post fight behaviour.

Maybe he was just pissed off and went on a bit of a rant?

He has a history of talking absolute bollocks and that post fight performance just continued the tradition.

Well, Joshua really did steal Uysk's thunder at a period of time when Uysk really deserved/needed the mic, and it did seem out of character for Joshua.bripez wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 13:07Why is it these days there always has to be a reason beyond the persons control to explain their behaviour?big lennox wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 11:25 Interesting article in boxing news on line by Elliott Worsell ( David Haye's brother in law) on Joshua's Post fight behaviour.

I think Worsell's article is a reminder how dangerous the sport is.
You have a different view, and that's ok, too; it's a boxing forum to bounce round ideas.
Re: Joshua on the mic
I agree. I mean, both things can be true. Being a bully or entitled is one thing, but having the control or self-awareness to stop yourself is another. Most people, even absolute twats, even with that exhaustion and disappointment, would have at least some sense that they should probably not step over a line that big.big lennox wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 14:58Well, Joshua really did steal Uysk's thunder at a period of time when Uysk really deserved/needed the mic, and it did seem out of character for Joshua.bripez wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 13:07Why is it these days there always has to be a reason beyond the persons control to explain their behaviour?big lennox wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 11:25 Interesting article in boxing news on line by Elliott Worsell ( David Haye's brother in law) on Joshua's Post fight behaviour.

So I can see how AJ with a concussion might act differently to AJ without. But who knows? This is boxing, of course, we don't even know if he had one.
Re: Joshua on the mic
Also Usyk must be wondering wtf is with British fighters post-fight. AJ lost his mind, Bellew fell in love with him, and Chisora got the burgers in
Re: Joshua on the mic
Of course he was concussed, how could he not be after that fight?dookus wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 15:40I agree. I mean, both things can be true. After I had hard fights it's was often a struggle to find my way home, luckily I never had to give politically correct public interviews
Re: Joshua on the mic
Fair enough! What I meant is it's not like rugby or football where concussions are tested for and the results released. With boxing it's rare that a concussion is even discussed, hence all the speculation in the press about whether or not he was concussed.Coco wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 17:46Of course he was concussed, how could he not be after that fight?dookus wrote: ↑26 Aug 2022, 15:40I agree. Re: Joshua on the mic
Poor little AJ. Thousands of fighters have lost and had respectful and unremarkable post fight interviews. Little AJ acts bizarre again (remember the punch from god?) and we all come out and provide all the excuses for his little chicken arse. That's what made him what he is today. An over protected; spoiled; delusional; couldabeengreat fighter.

Re: Joshua on the mic
yes some people really cannot handle losing well, still it will be interesting where Anthony goes from here i would still be ok seeing him Face Wilder at some point after a few tune up wins. right now a decent comeback could be Joshua vs Tom Schwarz who has won 3 since Fury stopped himoogiebe wrote: ↑27 Aug 2022, 00:03Oh, you mean 'drama.'mikebourkefan wrote: ↑27 Aug 2022, 00:00 Anthony Joshua on the mic after that loss was almost Tyson Fury or Nick Gage levels of charismatic. sad it was the traumatic type of charisma
