Think the answer to this one is quite simple , Smith has an injury and can't give a date , Eubank would much prefer the Benn fight more money better chance of winning if theres no eggs involed , but at the moment there just putting it out there to see the reaction from the BBBC

Shalom says Smith is 100% fit.. wants rematch end of Summer
Re: Liam Smith vs. Chris Eubank Jr. II | Sky PPV - Postponed
Chris Eubank Jr has received a revised date for his rematch with Liam Smith.
Smith, 34, pulled out of the original 1 July date due to injury but is now back to "100% fitness".
Rumours have been circulating that Eubank is in advanced talks to fight Conor Benn next, but promoter Ben Shalom thinks the rematch will happen.
"I expect it to happen and [for] it to happen very soon now that Liam has confirmed his 100% fitness," he told 5 Live Boxing.
"We've sent the date over to Wasserman [Eubank's promoters] and hopefully we can confirm something next week."
Eubank lost to his English rival Smith in their first fight in January, suffering the first stoppage defeat of his 35-fight career.
The 33-year-old opted to activate his rematch clause after holding initial talks with Benn, and reportedly re-opened those talks when Smith picked up his injury in May.
Benn is facing a lengthy doping suspension after testing positive for a banned substance on two separate occasions last year leading up to his scheduled fight with Eubank.
That fight was cancelled, but the UK Anti-Doping Agency (Ukad) and the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC)are yet to rule on Benn's case.
Benn gave up his boxing licence in the wake of the scandal in October but it was not until March that he was provisionally suspended by Ukad.
"I don't think we should talk about other fighters until Ukad has gone through their process," Shalom said of talks Eubank could fight Benn.
Speaking on the 5 Live Boxing podcast, Anthony Crolla said the right fight was Smith-Eubank, but thinks the more lucrative bout would be Eubank-Benn despite the opposition to it happening while Benn is facing a doping suspension.
"It makes more business sense [to arrange] Chris Eubank Jr v Conor Benn. A lot of it for the wrong reasons, but controversy sells," he said.
"I think Eddie Hearn's not been shy in saying a few things about that, basically said the deal is done, hasn't he?
"But then we heard from Ben Shalom and we heard from Liam Smith, [the rematch seems to be] on as well.
"I don't know what the contractual situation is there and that's what it is going to come down to."

Re: Liam Smith vs. Chris Eubank Jr. II | Sky PPV - Postponed
Chris Eubank Jr has confirmed that he will be facing Liam Smith in an anticipated middleweight affair which is set to take place on September 2nd at the 02 Arena in London. Eubank Jr took to social media to confirm his intentions with the immediate future of his career.
Eubank Jr & Liam Smith had previously fought each other in January of this year, with former WBO super-welterweight champion Smith upsetting the odds in claiming an impressive fourth-round stoppage victory over Eubank Jr.
A rematch had been due to take place on July 1st; however, due to injuries sustained by Smith, the bout was postponed until further notice, with the card then headlined by Savannah Marshall vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn, which took place at the Manchester Arena, Manchester.
However, the speculation as to when the contest will take place has been put to bed with Eubank Jr confirming that he take to the ring once again and face Smith in the capital on September 2nd.
Promoter, Ben Shalom confirmed Eubank Jr’s statement and claimed that Liam is now “100%” fit and can obligate his rematch obligations following their maiden encounter at the turn of the year.
“We’ve had the news on Liam Smith this week, really good news about his fitness, he’s 100 per cent fit for a date we were looking at,” Shalom told Sky Sports.
“We’ve notified Wasserman that we believe Liam is 100 per cent.”
“I believe Chris wants a rematch. I believe he wants to fight Liam Smith. He’s talked about revenge. There is a reason he activated the rematch clause.
“Really excited because Liam Smith is in a stage of his career now where it would have been so difficult for him to have an injury,” Shalom continued.
“He’s getting better and better and better and can fight for a world title for the second time and become a two-time world champion.
“To get an injury at this stage in his career was heartbreaking and difficult, not just for the Eubank fight. The next 12 months could be really career-defining for Liam Smith and the big big fights and the big nights to come.
“Eubank looks like it will be the next one, and then there are other huge fights out there. I know he wants to fight for a world title again.”
ProBox TV News has contacted Kalle Sauerland, who has denied any confirmation of any deal being agreed upon for the date in question when speaking to ProBox TV’s Adam Noble-Forcey.

“No no, SMITH vs Eubank 2,” Smith replied, correcting the order for the fight.
“It’s nice he’s found his phone and his voice,” Smith told Boxing News before refuting the claim. “I’ve not heard anything, any confirmation about that. I was told today he’s fighting Conor Benn.”

I hope Eubank doesn't just go on the backfoot and get startched again. RJJ was saying he told him to be front foot heavy last time and never take the backfoot but Eubank didn't listen. Have to think he will get starched by a right hand over his bad jab or when hes doing the elusive attempts with no countering so Liam can just fire off shots until one lands. I'd also like to see some spite. Be prepared to foul if you have to. Liam has no problem doing it. With all things said, I have to pick Liam to KO him again. I'm not banking on any improvement or higher IQ by Eubank. He's not the brightest. Liam knows what he is and hes durable and game and has the power to end matters with one punch.

Press Release
The rematch between bitter middleweight rivals Liam ‘Beefy’ Smith and Chris Eubank Jr has a new date, with the two now set to collide in at the AO Arena, Manchester on Saturday, September 2nd.
Airing live and exclusively on Sky Sports Box Office, the pay-per-view event will bring the heated rivalry to a conclusion, nine months after their first encounter.
Smith and Eubank Jr first fought in January, meeting in the middle of the ring for a firefight which lasted just one minute into the fourth round before Smith secured victory with a stunning pair of knockdowns.
Upset at the referee’s intervention and determined to avenge the defeat, Eubank Jr activated the contracted rematch clause and went into a protracted training camp focused on handing a loss to Liverpool man Smith.
With a prior date having been postponed due to Smith suffering a minor injury in training camp, the rivalry has reached new heights with each passing month.
"I'm glad that the date is set now and we can look forward to getting rid of this itch that needs scratching. I'm fully healed up now, injury-free, and I'm looking forward to finishing Chris Eubank Jr's career on September 2nd,” said Smith.
"No more excuses, no more postponements. Smith can’t run forever. September 2 is the day of my revenge,” said Eubank Jr.
Ben Shalom, BOXXER’s promoter and CEO, said, “The rivalry between Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr has quickly become one of the most heated in British boxing. Their January fight was one of the most exciting encounters in BOXXER history. We’re expecting tickets to fly out for September 2nd at the AO Arena as fans rush to be ringside for what is guaranteed to be another unbelievable firefight.”
Kalle Sauerland, Global Head of Boxing at Wasserman Boxing, said: "Good things come to those who wait, and so the postponements will only make victory that bit sweeter for Chris, when he finally meets Liam Smith on September 2. Chris has had to remain patient and disciplined but what has been clear, in our conversations over the last few weeks and months, is that he is laser-focused on setting the record straight. Chris is going to deliver an electric performance."

I dont hate this. have the main event as a 50-50.
But most people arnt keen.... which is good news for me because it means they will have to force it with a good undercard. I really liked the undercard last time, so if its better this time thats unreal. Although i hope they dont waste much money on marku.... unless its marku in with kongo, ekow, or mckinson.
