So, Fury tweeted about this 'game changing' fight back in February...then quickly deleted it. (4min mark)
No wonder he sabotaged the Usyk negotiations after that, he already had Ngannou signed up.
Hopefully there's no more fking around and he does finally face Usyk in December.
Fury buggered the Skills Challenge negotiations by asking for too much money but Spencer Brown massively came up trumps for him getting the link up with the Saudi guys who actually control the purse strings.
Warren/Arum had very little to do with it but properly lucked out.

Fury tweeting then deleting about the 'Game changer' back in February indicates there was something being discussed in the background before/whilst the 'Gap toothed, middleweight, rabbit, 70/30 split' videos were being released.
The upcoming fight with Ngannou in SA has been referred to as 'game changing' from as soon as it was announced. I very much doubt that's a coincidence.maverick23 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2023, 08:14Fury has talked a lot of rubbish and the game changer tweet could have been anything. The Gratest wrote: ↑13 Oct 2023, 08:09Ffs Mav...OK, meetings?

The Ngannou fight was mentioned in April of last year, he was in the ring with Fury after the Whyte fight and they were already both talking about a hybrid fight, so clearly something had been discussed.

'Sign the contract big boy, sign the contract!' Fury's parting words. Obviously there wasn't an actual contract then, but they clearly had been in talks last year about fighting. If the opportunity presented itself at the same time as the proposed April 29th Wembley date vs Usyk, then fair play to Fury, it looks like he's achieved the Ngannou cash grab, and now possibly the Usyk millions at a later date. He played it well.

Team Fury tried to make the Usyk fight in Saudi but Fury wanted too much money for it so Skills Challenge withdrew their offer. They then tried to make the fight in the U.K. but we know what happened there as Fury was too greedy.
Spencer met the Saudis who are funding the Ngannou fight at the Tommy Fury/Jake Paul fight at they apparently got on great.
Spencer and the Saudis then met in the U.K. a couple of months later to discuss ideas and that’s when this all started happening.

If he priced himself out of the Usyk fight in Saudi, and then also for Wembley, what was the 'game changer' tweet about? Chisora 4?
The proposed Ngannou fight probably was put forth to the Saudi's back in February, some verbal agreement done, Fury can't contain himself, puts out that tweet, gets advised 'You can't say that, we've got Usyk lined up for the end of April'...oh shit...delete....now he needs to sabotage the Usyk April date. The fact that he never set up training camp, never had a trainer in place, never looked at all like being prepared for April 29th suggests that there always was some other plan in the background.
The Saudi money team changed but that high reward little risk fight had already been dangled in front of him.
A fair bit of conjecture on my part, sure, but as pointed out quite a few times, the more noise Fury makes about an opponent, the less chance a fight gets made. You need conjecture with his antics.

I'm not doubting your word Mav, but given the backlash Fury's had from the AJ then Usyk call outs/negotiations that then resulted Chisora 3 and novice Ngannou, I doubt that anyone associated with Team Fury would be admitting that his plans always were to take on Chisora and Ngannou.maverick23 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2023, 09:12I’ve been told the sequence of events by someone who’s worked closely with Team Fury in the past and I’ve no reason at all to doubt it.
