After last night I realise that one of CBS' really underrated qualities is riding shots. He eats more than he should, sure, but rarely does he take them flush - mostly he's seen them and is moving with the punch by the time it arrives. RR is all about the straight right, so that was crucial in partially neutralising his best weapon and allowing CBS to keep working away.
Opetaia on the other hand has everything and I would not advise CBS to take that for anything less than retirement money.

I was at this, it was a fun event, but the card stank, not a single fight caught fire.
CBS won mainly on workrate over quality, his opponent looked awful, very clumsy, only a few spurts where he performed and landed some solid shots.
A shame as it's a good venue, but it was a very poor night of boxing. Even whittaker was pretty boring.

Missed most of it as got back from a long haul trip to Brum and back. Caught the last two. Can’t disagree on your take on them.
What did you think of Chamberlain v Massey. Fair/or should have been wider decision?

He can box, but against an opponent who largely came to survive, and not get battered, but who was a little bit game with it, and wanted to try and show Whittaker up, Whittkaer looked bang ordinary to me. He can box for sure, and he has good reflexes, but there either one of two things.#
1 -Maybe Whittaker tightened up a bit, because of the scale of the occasion and exposure.

I would say all 3 are probably true, number one to a lesser or greater extent.
My prediction is that Whittaker will need to be moved pretty carefully, if he's put in there with a good pressure fighter, he is going to have problems,
I dlon't blame his opponent for sticking the nut on him, stupid pudendum, he needs to concentrate on what's happening in the round and stop arsing about.
I hope he gets a hiding,. or certainly a scare soon, he will probably be a better fighter for it.

I do enjoy watching Whittaker. He certainly lacks that elite power from what we have seen so far though. And I do think Ezra accomplished himself very well and appears to be very intelligent. I did like his accent, I love it when people acquire a regional dialect desptie not being from here originally. No one will ever outdo Jan Molby for his Danish Scouse but Ezra has made a good start! And I'll follow Ezra's career from now on, I like him. the zurdo fight makes the most sense for cbs .
its one he can win for sure as zurdo isnt anything special .
And then onto the big one Vs optaia who will more than likely beat him on speed / agility / movement etc rather than what RR was doing which was some weird mix of shoving and grabbing okolie style and pretty much going for single shots which just wasnt enuff .

zurdo beating arsen 10-2 was pretty good tbh. despite moving up looked solid at the weight with a good chin. hard fight for cbs to win in the usa, certainly not one to take for granted
