I feel sorry for your finances and your car but I hope you don't go to this 'fight'.

The Benn drugs issue isn't resolved in my eyes and should be banned for life. I understand that the Board are contemplating giving him a UK licence. Strewth. Is everyone forgetting this?
I’m not buying out of principle but will make huge numbers regardless
Yes, huge numbers but disregard and forget the unresolved mess that has happened. I am not blaming the promoters or Chris Eubank Jr.

It appears to reward taking performance enhancing drugs.

It also feels strange publicising the fight before Benn gets his UK licence back, the licence of which I believe he handed back.

I think I heard Hearn say it's a done deal that Benn gets his licence back. Was that before or after the announcement of this fight. As it stands, it surely puts the Board in a compromising situation after all the recent hullabaloo. Imagine if the Board turn down the application. It's almost like they can't say no.

Shouldn't have Benn reapplied for his licence first and then the fight gets announced. It just doesn't feel right.

No I'm not going. I almost bout 3 decent seats at 150 each but thinking about my car I decided not to.

Maybe if the undercard was better it might be worth it.

This one looks staged
This is more stage managed than a royal wedding.

Absolutely no way this was accidental; the camera is the giveaway, I mean, why would someone be filming his Eggcellency and Nigel Benn in a lift?
When the egg thing happened I thought no way they staged that, but after looking back on it, I tend to think it was staged maybe Connor wasn't in on it
Yes, I agree with this.

I too think it was staged to a degree, but I don’t think his Eggcellency was in on it, because he looked too angry.

Then again, he might just be a very good actor.

Indeed. Please don't remind me of it. Took me a long time to get over it.

To be honest I've never been to a stadium fight before, I love a big atmosphere so not sure if that associates with stadiums

60k tickets sold it seems.

Those who thought it wouldn't sell are very wrong.

It was always going to sell out eventually, I reckon. Would have taken a lot longer without the egg, though.

I’d be interested in the ticket buying demographic . Is it dominated by middle aged and older fans who remember the glory days of the fathers in their pomp ?

Just casual fans in general. They'll remember the dads names and will have watched their fights on ITV, that's about it. Nigel and Senior didn't sell this many for their rematch. I know a good few going.

I imagine those going it's going to be a great night for atmosphere.

We all love loud shouting, and chanting at football matches, boxing is no different.

I'd rather go to a small venue like Barnsley Metrodome if the crowd voiced. Nothing worse than sat in an arena watching dull fights and the crowd sat on their hands.

I've been to some terrific fights, where the crowd have Ben fantastic, and example from more than 20 years ago Wharton v Eubank, that was at the GMex and bloody hell it was electrifying.

When George Foreman came over here to fight at the London Arena it was quite and kind of dull. I'm guessing most just came for the main event.

I've loved being in the crowd at Naz fights. Eubank has always made the crowd respond, I don't think there has ever been a better showman.

Even Audley Harrison v David Haye got loud, when they got in the ring.

Personally for me I need a big loud atmosphere and need to come out of the arena with memories I remember 20 years later.

Now, Hughie Fury v Joseph Parker was dismall, it was not only dismal it was a shite evening. I entertained myself having a go at Amir Khan, but he took it in good spirits.

Remarkable that these two relatively anonymous fighters, neither of whom has ever fought a big fight on terrestrial tv or contested a proper world title fight, should comfortably sell more tickets than their famous fathers did.

I’m not sure why that is. Maybe the way Hearn has normalised stadium dates for big fights, maybe the power of the internet to directly market events to those interested in them.

I was at the Old Trafford fight.

This one will be a stadium fight with a similar sized crowd, I think.

Benns fight prior to the rematch was against Lou Gent. Definitely the most fun i had at a boxing match. Gents fans were brilliant. There was a big Saaf London v East London atmosphere.

Anyway, back to this fight. I think Eubank wins within 3 rounds but I'd rather the other way around.

You could say the same about Jake Paul, KSI etc. KSI and Logan Paul fought an amateur fight in 2018 when both were hardly known by anyone outside the YouTube world and having never boxed and sold something like 20,000 tickets and around 1.3M PPV for a white collar match.

Names selling fights.

If this was Pamela Anderson v Dolly Parton in a naked brawl it would sell out.

Names can sell anything.

Tbf to Jr, when he fought BJS he was very raw and in his first 12 round fight but still gave the more experienced BJS a real scare in the 2nd half of the fight. A split decision loss isn’t being “found out” as Froch puts it.

Nor is losing to a naturally bigger man in Groves. Even though George had a handy lead, jr kept at it and again gave his opponent a scare late on when George’s shoulder popped out.

I’m not saying Eubank’s elite or anything, just that he’s not looked out of his depth at world level. It’s poor from Froch to just parrot the Conor line that eubank’s been found out whenever he’s stepped up.

If Carl truly is a man of the people who tells it how it is he’ll presumably tell Conor he’s an area level fighter living off his dads name who boosted his profile by knocking out naturally smaller veterans while juiced to the gills.

I have my doubts whether he’ll do that.

I agree with all of this. It baffles me how anyone can look at the form lines and think Benn has any kind of chance.
