Rick...It does seem like they carried more stuff in the early '50's than they did in the '60'sRick Farris wrote:Thanks Frank. I got a kick out of the United Sporting Goods ad. Seems they had a lot better inventory in those days, including Ben-Lee and Casanova equipment, according to the ad.

Frank, sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Wish I could make today's meeting.kikibalt wrote:Going to try to make the GSBA meeting today, my health has being so bad lately that I have a hard time leaving the house, hopefully I can make it today....
For those of you who aren't familiar with the GSBA lunches, they are very informal and take place at a small restaurant on Hollywood Blvd. A lot of Classic American West Coast boxers will stop in, like Danny Valdez, Bobby Chacon, Ray Ramos (Mando's dad), Howard Smith, etc. And of course, Don Fraser and GSBA Pres & VP Larry Montalvo and Bill Young. In addition to a lot of great conversation, news, inside info, etc. Frank provides the main event, which are videos of classic bouts from the past. Nice way to step back in time and enjoy the company of some special people.
