Thanks Frank. I got a kick out of the United Sporting Goods ad. I still remember it's 9th & Hill location downtown.
Seems they had a lot better inventory in those days, including Ben-Lee and Casanova equipment, according to the ad.
Rick...It does seem like they carried more stuff in the early '50's than they did in the '60's

No Paul, he doesn't, I have no idea what ever became of Eddie, I do know that he had been in and out of jail some years back, but now? don't know...

Frank, sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Wish I could make today's meeting.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the GSBA lunches, they are very informal and take place at a small restaurant on Hollywood Blvd. A lot of Classic American West Coast boxers will stop in, like Danny Valdez, Bobby Chacon, Ray Ramos (Mando's dad), Howard Smith, etc. And of course, Don Fraser and GSBA Pres & VP Larry Montalvo and Bill Young. In addition to a lot of great conversation, news, inside info, etc. Frank provides the main event, which are videos of classic bouts from the past. Nice way to step back in time and enjoy the company of some special people.
