Linda looks so much like you, Frankie, especially in the first photo. She is a beautiful, dignified, courageous lady.

Bennie; this how it works with Don king.

Frankie fought for Don King once, Tony never, why? well in 1982 King invited Frankie, Tony and I to fly to N.Y.C. for 5 days on his dime, he wanted us to sign a contract for 3 years, 3 fights a year guarantee, sound good so far, yea? well here's where the deal went sour, he wanted to put the dollar amount for each fight up front at the time of signing the contract, in other words he wanted us to sign for 9 fights for each boy without knowing who the opponent would be but the dollar amount already set, well I turn that down, so he offer us another deal and that deal was that I bought Carl King in as co-manager, I said no to that, thanked Don for his hospitality and we flew back home.
Either way, Don wants it all his way.
Bennie, you either play the game Don's way or he won't play.

There's all kind of fightin'. Fightin' in the ring. Fightin' against cancer. It's not important if we win or lose, but how we fight the fight. In the end we're always stopped on a TKO,but if you knew how to live your life ,you're were ahead on all the cards.

Rick; remember those nites at the Teamsters Gym, when we were all young.

This pic. was taken in 1965 at a JR.GG fight at the Teamsters,
Thats my cousin Tony Adame (L), who fought amateur for Louie
Jauregui back in the late 1950's, Tony have since passed away,
and thats little Tony B. and me.

I'll never forget those Teamsters Gym fights, and I was probably at the one the picture was from. I recall Tony when he was that small, and, he was amazing. He was a natural. I was about 13 then.

Your daughter DOES look like you, and even after all that raggin' about your picture your daughter Linda is as pretty as they come. You too Frank.

Now my daughters are pretty too. That's because they look like my wife.

It must have been tough to post those pictures Mr Baltazar. Cancer is a terrible thing, affecting all families at some point it seems. My wife's aunt is currently undergoing chemo and is pretty sick. Tonight I will say a prayer for her and your brave daughter.

Cancer, like Frank says is a bitch. But whether you post it on here or not, it's still there. I haven't looked at the other threads too much lately, but I know on here if anyone has difficulty with something, you can tell us about it and you know you've got plenty of people in your corner.

Mr. Nut,Representing The Classic West Coast Boxing Thread,we are all in your corner with your aunt. That's pretty good company. God Bless.

That was nice of you to give Boxing Nut that support. I mean it,this thread is good for a whole gamut of reasons. Sometimes I'm bothered by something, and I know I can work it out with you guys. Great support team here. I figure why go to a shrink and pay him 200 dollars an hour and have him give you a prescription to something you'll get hooked on?

Besides the shrink probably knows nothing about boxing anyway.

And this is so important too. We share stuff. We're not insulting each other. We're not arguing with each other. That's why I got sore when some guys started to take cheap shots and having to have their way with things. Not here. There's no lists,no competition. Just friends.

Here's something I think is related to what we're talking about. I just got home from taking my grandson to Karate practice. I get in the door and my wife tells me one of the neighbors has a complaint in one of the condo units. I'm the president of the association and deal with complaints. I go over to this unit and there's a young couple outside saying this lady is spraying poison in the hallway. I knock on the person's door who made the original complaint and here's this gal standing there with these two young guys . She starts complaining that the lady upstairs came down and sprayed something in the hall way. It's poison. It's solvent. It's going to kill us.

Well it was some floral spray. That was obvious. I looked at the five people and asked them who sprayed. They said it was Maria who lived upstairs. Maria is an old Mexican widow who never has bothered anyone. Once a week I see her son come over and take her shopping. She talks to my wife once in a while. I always wave when I see her. The couple who made the original complaint said that the cooking smells from their unit drifted upstairs and that's probably why Maria came downstairs and sprayed. I asked them what they wanted me to do." Make her stop." I said I'll talk to her. Then they said that when they first smelled the spray, they went upstairs, knocked on her door and yelled at her.

"Maria's an old lady,"I said.
I turned on my heel and walked away. They had this look on their faces that I was going to understand their suffering. I was going to go upstairs right now and let Maria have it.

If I see Maria I might mention it. Then again, I might not.

My Italian mother was named Mary, her sister Mary Francis. Our middle daughter is Maria. But we said enough of the Maria's. So we we named our last daughter Lupe.

My Wifes name is Mary also.
I always call her Maria because she looks Italian even though she is Irish.
Black hair Olive skin and Huge Blue eyes.
The only thing is those eyes dont work well.
My wife is legally blind now , she only has ten pecent of her vision left and is losing that.
She has a disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa.
Shes a fighter though and as tough as they come.Shes full of joy even though this is real hard.
Its hereditary and we found out about a year and a half ago my 10 year old son has the same damn disease.
Everyone has something in their famalies I guess.
Nobody said it was gonna be easy.
