I heard or read somewhere that EK was a nut-case, was he?
EK believed in his own publicity for a while but you had to love him. He was BIG.

Bennie I saw an interview with him a year or two before he died and he was so full of himself, but like I said before, as a kid growing up in the 1970s he was big, he always wore that Elvis like jumpsuit.

I just googled Tom's Farm , is it a amusement park like Knotts Berry farm.

No, not at all, Tom's Farm started out with just a hamburger stand, it since has grown with a few stores, on Sundays there is live music, it also is a bikers hang-out, mostly yuppie bikers.

Sugar Ray Leonard replaces Lennox Lewis
May 27, 2010 by Edgar Gonzalez
On my previous article about Antonio Tarver calling out Danny Green, I stated that Tarver did a better job as a commentator than Lennox Lewis. It seems that HBO has noticed as well.
After 4 years HBO has finally decided to replace Lennox Lewis with Sugar Ray Leonard. Being a commentator you must be naturally a gifted talker. Lewis was a bit dry, reserved and generic in his approach. Lewis has said he plans to work on his International Training Academy.
The Academy is intended to help the development of young boxers around the world. In addition there was a rumor that Freddie Roach was seriously considering filling the spot but at the end Ray Leonard got the job. This might be a shocker to some of you but Sugar Ray Leonard is not fan friendly.
I have seen Leonard at several events and every time he acts like he’s to good for anyone. He hides behinds body guards or he completely ignores you, like you don’t exist.
I last saw Leonard at the Chris Arreola-Tomasz Adamek fight last month at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA. As he sat at ringside, my friend who was a photographer that night, tried to snap a picture and Leonard completely ignored him and turned his back.
If boxing fans tried to get his autograph or take pictures with him, he will immediately tell his bodyguard/security to get them away. I know fans can sometimes be annoying and can be overwhelming but don’t ignore them. If it wasn’t because of them, Leonard won’t be who he is today. It is not the first time he does this. I have seen it with my own eyes. It would have been nice if he would waive hi to his fans and continue on his way but instead he completely ignores us. You could be calling him by his name and be 2 feet away and he will act like you’re not there.
Hopefully this won’t change the way you look at him but someone had to expose him.
Have any of you had a bad experience with Ray Leonard?

I don't know if you heard this joke or not, btw it is older than you, but here goes, a guy walks into a bar, in the back of the bar he sees a crowd of people, so he asks the bartender whats going on, the bartender replies '' there is a contest where if you can make the donkey laugh you get all the money in the prize pool, the prize money is very big know cause nobody can make him laugh, ok the man says i''ll give it a shot, so he goes to the back of the bar and whispers in the donkeys ear and the donkey just starts laughing so hard he can't stop, so the man walks out with the big prize money, next time he comes in the bar he sees a bunch of people in the back, so he asks the bartender whats going on, the bartender says there is a contest whoever could make the donkey cry gets the big prize pool, so the man makes his way to the back of the bar, steps up to the donkey and all of a sudden the donkey starts crying so hard he can't stop, the man then starts walking out of the bar with the money when the bartender walks up to him and asks how did you do it, the man replies ''last week when the contest was who could make the donkey laugh, I told the donkey that I had a bigger d--k than him, this week when I made him cry I showed him.

I saw him one time about 2 years ago, there is a bridge connecting Ceasars palace with the Barbary coast casino and there is a two way escalator, I was going up and he was going down, and when we passed each other I give him a fist pump and say Sugar, he responds with a fist pump right back, so I was pleased with his response he acted as if he liked someone recognized him, but maybe in a setting where everyone knows him like a boxing event he acts different.

Every time we go to California at night it gets cold even in the summer, probably because I am used to our hot A-- weather.

Leonard was doing HBO Boxing a few years ago.
An angry ex-love blew the whistle on his drug use and he was replaced by George Foreman.
I'm not a Leonard fan, but I thought he did a pretty good job ringside.
Foreman, Roy Jones, Antonio Tarver, and Emmanuel Steward weren't that good, in my opinion.
I still say Sean O'Grady is the best, but the name Leonard pulls a lot of weight.
I don't know the guy, just heard from others that he was quite full of himself.

Satisified . . .
At the 2007 WBHOF Banquet of Champions, Dan Hanley and myself, along with a couple film tech's I work with, conducted interviews with eight boxing Hall of Famers. Photos of our filming the interviews have been posted here.
It was our goal to capture a few interviews, even if we did not edit the film immediatly.
We just wanted to be sure to have them on record, and we could cut the footage at a later date and use it for a variety of projects.
After 2 1/2 years, the footage has been edited and we have a couple great hours of inteviews.
One of the interviews is the very last one that Mando Ramos did on camera.
We also had Rodolfo Gonzalez, Yaqui Lopez, George Benton, Carlos Ortiz, Armando Muniz, Gwen Adair and Lou Filippo.
Unlike most interview footage seen, our product has a quality look, I believe. The look compliments the quality of those we interviewed.
I had no problem setting up the production, the guests, camera angles, lighting, etc.
Dan Hanley had no problem finding just the right questions to ask the legends, I had no problem reminding a few about something from the past.
What I do have a problem with is getting it from DVD to this thread. I guess we should start thru YouTube ???? then transfer the link to the thread?
