What an exciting fight both threw everything they had, both showed a great chin and a massive heart. I felt Gavin Rees strenght and reletless style troubled Lynes.

29-28 Rees for me

Do they have to apologize for the swearing? Can't they just not mention it?

Reese .. Ooops Rees  .. showed much improved punch power in there. Too much for these domestic guys. Would like to see him go down to lightweight .. but the amount of weight he had to shift to get to lt-welter suggests he`s here to stay..

Wouldn't mind seeing Rees v John Murray down the line

i was gona post that! :box:

after seeing that i fancy rees to be too busy for murray and outwork him.

looks like rees can soak it up and stay busy.

even rees vs mcallistair would be interesting!

Just want to say a big Well done to Gavin Rees, he was brilliant last night. Alot of people, including myself, scoffed at your world title cridentials - well it was a terrific performance against Mbaye.... but many thought you would come unstuck against most EBU rated fighters.

Whilst it wasn't a 12 round format, you showed class.... and for 3 rounds at least, as you mentioned time and time again.... your a handful for anyone at the lower end of the worlds top 10.... and possibly more.

I will hold my hands up and say that I thought over 12, I predicted (at the time) that Lynes would have beaten you.... when you were WBA champion and Lynes was going through a purple batch. It was clear to me, that I completely under estimated you. Still think it would be a cracking fight still, over 12.... but you showed tremendous pedigree last night.

Well done on a title deserved. Hope you go back to Lightweight..... love to see you mix it with Murray and Mitchell.

if rees/lynes could produce that effort over 12 rounds what a fight to look forward to, rees says he is now going to lightweight so where does lynes go from here?
