If there wasn't any fans he wouldn't be getting paid. I don't think he can go on PPV against anyone else and I think he will lose even more respect from the casuals if he avoids Groves. People don't want anyone else, they want Groves.

I am genuinely amazed by your answer. Do you really and truly believe that there is no need for a rematch despite the more dominant fighter being prematurely and controversially stopped?

Yes, Froch was coming on strong at the time of stoppage - but there was nothing that Froch did to justify that stoppage. The referee got it badly wrong.

Groves' next fight has to be Froch and visa-versa for Froch. The fight was an absolute belter and will do great business in the rematch.

Talk of Groves-Ward or Groves-Stieglitz is absurd, irrelevant and nothing more than an attempt to take off the obvious pressure that is growing on Froch for a rematch. No one is saying Groves is the new superstar of the super-middleweight division, but plenty are saying he is more than a match for Froch.

I do agree however that the rematch will ultimately hinge on Froch's desire for it.

Yes mate, but it ain't the fans getting in the ring. Froch's (like any other fighter's) career could be over after his next fight. It's his decision. If he fights Chavez, I'll pay to watch it and the PPV money in the states, if they fight there, mean that Froch could earn serious bucks.

Not sure why you've quoted big 'puncher' Gomez he bludgeoned Carl like I've never seen before. Surely the rhetoric from now should be that Groves IS a very hard puncher but Carl Froch still gets up.

I just watched it a few times again. He got it bang on the chin and fell straight back ok he wasn't starched straight thankfully nothing positive you can put on it and he took two more hard clean head blows before the bell.
