This is tragic,i was thinking when Blackwell was pinned on the ropes taking a pounding that his reputation as being durable and uber tough might have been saving him from being stopped by the ref

Thoughts and prayers

Best of luck, Nick. You've always been a fighter. You'll fight your way out of this.

One question...... Where was Adam Booth tonight?
I've been thinking the same (hey man what up by the way :) ...... there was rumours that booth had cut ties with the eubanks because of the difficulty in dealing with them which everyone else seems to say. Anyway, i'm guessing that is true going on his absence.

Obviously hoping he makes a full recovery. He shipped a lot of punishment. Absolutely rock solid chin and amazing heart.

If this ends his career I at least hope its to the benefit of his longer term health as he cant be in more fights of this nature.

I was going to stop up for the Ward fight but I haven't got the heart to watch it now, off to bed and I hope I wake up to good news about Nick.

Did he? Didnt see that. Slightly insensitive to put it mildly.

Some folk would have been thinking about the Watson fight but a question for another day and inappropriate while Nick Blackwells condition was unknown.

Hope he,s OK. It was a punishing fight.

Hearing it might be a problem with the skull and he's been placed into a coma.
Hope he gets better.

Hearing it is a bleed on the skull and not on the brain. Don't know if that will stop him boxing again but it sounds a lot more positive than a bleed on the brain.

Robert Smith, general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control, told The Telegraph last night that Blackwell “had immediately received a scan in hospital, where it was discovered that he had suffered a small bleed on his brain, and medical experts were taking full care of him and would make a decision on whether to operate”.

Blackwell has got a quality chin.

Eubank Jr looked good, but he also looked quite easy to hit at times, despite showing a good jaw. Still think GGG and Jacobs would beat him, and Saunders in a rematch tbh.

Blackwell shouldn't fight at this level again he just gets hit too much and not just in this fight. He was thoroughly outclassed. I am amazed how many people gave him a chance. Lets hope he doesn't pay too seriously for it.

He mentioned it in saying it was the reason that boxing events now must have a far greater medical team present...in a way to reassure the audience.

Blackwells corner should have pulled him out a few rounds before...its unusual for Locket to let his fighter take that sort of punishment...but in ni way to blame for what happened as he knows his fighter better than any of us

Hope Blackwell makes a speedy recovery

Yes. Why keep harping on about things that happened many years ago, what was Eubank Sr supposed to say???

Maybe. It was hardly the worst thing ever said tho. Plus it's a turning point in British boxing history. The path Watson was unfortunately taken down may well have saved blackwells life last night. Hope he's ok. :verysad:

I was watching an interview in the build up and thought what a sound lad he seemed.

Any news on Blackwell or any idea where to check? I have been looking online but not seen anything so the last thing I know was he was taken to hospital. Frustrating that there is zero information on his condition, especially in this day and age. Fingers crossed regardless. Brave and tough kid
