I see your point but it looks like fwank intends to take that risk. I seem to recall him taking a seven digit hit on getting home advantage for Herbie hide against vitali, which with the benefit of hindsight was not money well spent.

The trouble is it is a risk, but what's the reward? Frank can tell everyone he's got a world champion, but what does he do with him? I don't even think world champion Hughie does any decent business. He can chuck him in with Joshua, in which case Frank loses his world champion. And if the last few years are anything to go by promoting the Fury's is tricky business given all the pull outs, drug fails and so on.

I think the sensible route for Warren would be to treat Hughie for what he is; a largely untested prospect, and get him regular fights. God knows he needs them. Build his profile and suchlike. But I really don't see him taking a risk on a sizeable loss for a prospect who almost certainly, at present, will not make him sizeable return.

I agree with all your points, I think for the hundred million or whatever BT are paying fwank, they want more than unknown WBO champs and a slew of WBO European champs. They'll look at sky and want similar - fighters who break into the mainstream. Agreed, that is certainly not Hughie fury, but fwank has to work with what he's got and he needs a heavyweight champion. Thanks to the magic of options, even if Hughie won then lost the wbo title fwank could still deliver world heavyweight champion fights on BT. Either you're in the mix or you're not and I think fwank will roll the dice to get himself in the mix.

Peter Fury said it's gonna be September in the UK. Announcement likely this week.

Until they're walking into the ring, I wouldn't trust a Fury not to pull out. Even then I'd still be a bit skeptical.

McDonell / Butler off according to Hearn or unlikely - said he was disappointed as they agreed monies and on BT but doesn't look to have come through and they were now working on Solis.
