Neither guy coming off stellar performances but they should be well up for this one, I thought Joshua looked a bit flat against Takam and never really had a plan and the stoppage was BS, Parker I thought lost comfortably to Hughie, I was pissed as a newt when I watched it mind, that pissed that I thought Fury got the nod when I woke up next day  Still I remember the fight being diabolical and Parker walking forward without being effective, I preferred Shades of Ali

Rumours are Joshua is coming in heavy like last time and Parker is coming in lighter so it does close the odds if true, Parker has good handspeed and he wont have to chase AJ like he did Fury so he'll have chances, I just cant see him living with Joshua though, Joshua is too strong and hits too hard, much harder than any of Parker's previous opponents

Both guys have questionable stamina and if their to fade I can see Joshua breaking Parker down late in the fight rather than vice versa, Parker's a nice guy and I wouldn't mind seeing him win TBH but he's an ordinary champ

Whilst I agree that the stoppage was poor for the Takam fight Joshua was winning the fight by absolutely miles.

I think this happens a lot in boxing. Takam did well in the eyes of many given they presumably expected him to be blown away. Therefore because he wasn't Joshua was flat, too heavy, looked poor overall. I don't think he really did. It was the equivalent of Man Utd beating some non-league side 3-0 in the FA Cup having been three up inside half an hour. He just coasted to the win really.

Surely that would be the total opposite of everything that is pointing to AJ coming in lighter.

He looks like he has slimmed down, seems in the clips he posts to be reasonably quick, hearn saying light, mckracken saying lighter. Even nutjob Higgins is saying he is lighter to copy Parker.

Let's not forget that Joshua bust open both of takams eyes, put him on his arse and rocked him more than once.

Compare that to how Parker beat him which was a 116-112/115-113 fight. I believe AJ had won all bar 1 round on the cards prior to the stoppage.

The difference between the two Takem fights is that Takem came in to beat Parker, and survive against AJ.

That maybe says quite a bit how he viewed both men.

Surely that says it all about the respective view of the 2?

parker fought him a couple o years ago when takam was closer to prime and when parker was only 23 /24 years old. joshua was 28 and is in his physical prime. this might be relevant or might not be. it should also be pointed out that povetkin did a better job of knocking takam out,and did not rely on a hometown ref soft stoppage.

povetkin stopped takam much harder but that was far more competitive then aj vs takam was

povetkin vs takam was oficcially even after 8

personally i thought you could score takam vs parker a draw

Another thing , while i'm at it.......joshua may be a beast, but he is seriously over rated. he has beaten 17 nobodies, has had 20 fights and is 28 years old. his best victory was takam, who is solid. the klit victory was against a very old well past it former champ.

true, but joshuas size was harder for the 6ft takam to deal with.....not the skill.

The point is that there arguably aren't any. Wilder is wild, Fury hasn't fought since 2015, Parker is untested, Haye is past it, Ortiz is ancient, Pulev average.

Bar Klitschko he's barely lost a round. You can say the opposition was average but it's not like it's been particularly weak.

im just saying that joshua is still relatively untested at the highest level when you compare him to heavyweight champs of the past.20 fights is nothing. look at all the mugs who had eubank jr as the next rjj! knocking out bums , has beens, etc doesnt help you when you have top quality opposition in front of you.

Wilder isn't wild... He put in some nice accurate shots versus Ortiz cuz he HAD to... He was in deep shitt -- but very cool.

Parker isn't untested... Takam and Ruiz were really big tests... Hughie was a smaller test... Some didn't think he passed all of the tests, but Parker will be ready for Joshua and Joshua will be ready for him.

Anyone who doesn't think AJ has fought a world class prime Heavyweight is out there in Zu Zu Land... Takam certainly had the goods and Breazeale is a very tough, hard man... Not everybody can be a master boxer.
