Can't see anyone paying to see Browne again after that showing tonight. Makes a joke out of our sport for that man to of held a world title. Looked clueless in there. For someone who was going in there relying on 1 shot he should of at least been able to throw it properly you would of thought.

I walked in the door just after Browne got dropped & kept waiting for the replay on Sky (streamlink) but they never showed it. Was that just because of concern for Browne's condition or is that usual fare for Sky?

Yh. When Wilder KTFO's Whyte, the casuals will buy into Joshua-Wilder even more. He should come over here, get paid handsomely to KO Whyte.. he's already known in UK to be fair..

First off, I hope Browne is ok and my thoughts go out to him and his family and team tonight. He came in to the fight in pretty bad shape and looked like an old past his prime football hooligan you would meet in a dodgy boozer. That being said, I thought Whyte was excellent tonight. Showed some nice skills. His jab was on point and he was doubling up with it nicely. Anytime Browne got in close he was cutting him up to the body and showed excellent variety. He's flattered to deceive his last few fights but he looked a different man in there tonight and credit where credit is due. I think him and Wilder is an interesting fight tbh. He looks motivated and up for it. If he's in shape and disciplined then who knows? He won a new fan in me tonight and I was happy to see him box so well.

All the best to Browne though. Fingers crossed he's ok.

Just got home from the o2, it was an entertaining show with plenty of KOs but would have been nice to have seen one 12 round tactical battle, but i suppose no one is really to blame for that.

Buglioni's (lack of) defence has always been a glaring weakness, Gallagher and Johnson obviously have watched plenty of tapes and got the tactics spot on.

Cardle looked good in the first round and was obviously trying to beat Ritson to the punch and force him backwards. It was always going to be difficult to keep that up for 12 rounds, or two in this case....
I would be a bit worried for Ritson if he ever faces a puncher who can also take a shot, not much danger of that on the current domestic scene though.

Browne looked awful. But Whyte did what he had to do, gave him an absolute pasting and finished brutally. Wont hurt his credibility to have made such a statement on Sky and HBO.

Sincerely hope Browne is ok, seeing him leave on a stretcher put a bit of a downer on the evening.

As bad and ponderous as Browne was, you cant really fault Whyte's performance , it was workmanlike, Whyte's been a bit boring before and laboured to the end but even though it wasn't explosive he kept Browne in his box, he just sparred him round after round, cut him up then KO'd him cold, it's a win that makes you wonder, nothing spectacular but still a win that improves his reputation and makes you think he could make a credible challenge to Wilder, he has the self belief of Chisora and Del Boy lost to schooled guys like Vitali, Haye and Fury

I can see Whyte dealing with the European level guys same as Chisora but Dillian doesn't have the same competition as he Chisora did, Whyte is no second coming but he stands up against Wilder's challengers, his self belief cant be underestimated , its no show. he believes he can win, some doubt his power but i never seen him land shots on Allen, Lewison or Chisora that should've decked them, if he hits someone clean they'll feel it

I think that is pretty unfair on Whyte's performance. Granted, he was fighting a limited over the hill Browne, but you really can only beat what's put in front of you. One of the most frustrating things about Whyte in many of his most recent fights, was his wayward erratic application of technique, and he would regularly resort to Wilder style windmilling, and lack the finishing ability.

What I saw last night was a guy well on top of his fundamentals topped off with excellent finishing. Everything I've been wanting to see from Whyte for some time. From the weigh in, he looks much bigger and stronger, to the very first round, where he immediately got behind a very solid jab. In fact, it wasn't just solid, it was a very effective weapon. I think considering how charged the build up was, he was composed and controlled throughout. And finally he put someone away with a reputable chin.

There is still a lot of questions around Whyte, but there are around every fighter. I think this is just his latest challenge, and he's come through with flying colours. Whyte was the favourite coming in, but don't think many had this kind of finish down, or the level of domination. Personally I would like to see him up against Breazeale in a final eliminator. If the Wilder fight comes round, then fine. If Whyte gets behind a solid jab again, and boxes as well as he did last night, he will be a formidable challenge.
