thats the thing when ppl go on about wilder fighting heavier guys, a large part of it is that he just happens to be in shape rather then being a fat tit of a man
You've been totally right. With the exception of AJ and Wilder, they are all carrying extra weight. AJ is a beasty boy.

I don’t really like Wilder, but people are overboard in their criticisms.
Wilder does not have elite boxing skills, but he is better than most give him credit for.
Wilder does not have a great resume but he has fought Ortiz and Fury and is about to fight Breazeale who has only lost to AJ.
Wilder has obviously been brought along slowly for equally obvious reasons; he had precious little amateur experience, he was raw. How many fights did Alvarez have before he got going? How about JCC? He is far from the first fighter who has been brought along slowly / very protected.
I have always said that he is a preying mantis on ice waiting to happen, but he has proved me wrong up to now. He has great heart, which got him through the Ortiz ordeal and earned him a draw v Fury.
Wilder is the most exciting HW on the planet currently. Every minute of every fight is tense due to his ability to end it as well as his vulnerability.
Fury is a great HW boxer, but his fights, besides v Wilder are generally snoozers.
AJ is the king but few of his fights entail much drama besides what round or if he will KTFO his opponents.
AJ v Fury would be huge but not as anticipated as AJ v Wilder.
Why? Because Wilder could KTFO AJ, while Fury’s only legit avenue to the W would be another borefest.
I agree with most of what you have said. It is not an unreasonable post.
However, a few things I will pull you up on.
Wilder was 23 when he made his pro debut, off the back of the Beijing Olympics (35 amateur bouts). You'd be forgiven for bringing him through slowly, and maybe him fighting Stiverne for the WBC crown in his 33rd fight was a nice conservative approach. Wilder then proceeded to feel his way through drab opponent after drab opponent. Now he either has zero ambition, or he has zero belief in himself to take on a real fighter. And please, do not use Ortiz and Fury as some kind of hollow justification for ambition. Ortiz was 39 years old and Fury was coming off the back of a 4 year lay off. Cherry picked opponents? And let us not forget Wilder was incredibly lucky that the referee did not step in and stop the fight when Ortiz had him hanging on the ropes...
Why in 40 fights has he only ever fought for the WBC title? Does he not want any of the other belts?

Fury was also lucky not to have had the fight stopped in the 12th. Certain refs we all are aware of would have waved it.
I am not here to make excuses for Wilder. The AJ fight needs to be made. The Fury rematch not happening is NOT on Wilder though.
One thing is absolutely clear, Wilder is the most exciting HW alive because of his power combined with his vulnerability.

Well I bet the people who voted for Brazeale feel a bit stupid now. I don’t get how Brazeale can approach Wilder up close looking for a left handed uppercut in the first round. Has he not seen any of Wilders fights? You can’t atand toe to toe with Wilder with your head all the way upright. Foolish move.

Well I picked Wilder to win but I still feel stupid enough for thinking Breazeale had an outside chance.

Dont feel bad. I'm a member of some other forums some hate Wilder so much the polls showed Breazeale favored in the fight.
There are some fighters I'm not fond of. But I try to be objective in making predictions.

People will pick who they want to win rather than who they think will.

They were talking about another site where Breazeale led the poll.

Same here. I don't really care what forum it was on, especially if that were true.

Not true.
I dislike Canelo fairly passionately, but have backed him in most of his recent fights (only backed GGG against him).

Well, I didn’t mean everyone.
Some people just probably feel better picking their guy. Because deep down they may believe ‘he can do it’.

Perhaps in a 50:50, but this fight was far from 50:50.
Anyone backing Breazeale before that fight probably wants their head testing.

I'd have been almost as shocked as Tyson/Douglas. A glacier slow guy with no defense is going to struggle using toughness to beat wilder. Proverbial punchers chance.

Always a punchers chance, but 1% is always going to be 1%.
