It's true, Canelo did absolutely zero, I actually scored it 10-10 as I felt kovalev didnt enough more to warrant winning, but no way on gods green earth did Canelo win it.

Kov didn't throw a shot in anger throughout, not even when Canelo landed his penultimate righthand and he just wobbled back to his status quo of trying to control it at range. Even Pricey fired an uppercut last week! Maybe Canelo thought he was playing possum, hence his slight delay in going for the finish?

I found it interesting that Kov had the presence of mind to move his right knee to catch his fall (how fast was the ref?!), but it was clearly a series of 3/4 hard shots that put him down. Golovkin took some clean shots from Canelo, though, so I'm surprised Kov was that ready to go. I bet Yarde's gutted he didn't wait a bit longer now.

Well one thing we know now is triple G has one hell of a chin, 24 rounds with Canelo and he barely blinked

In his prime he wouldn’t have been using those tactics. I imagine he wouldn’t have got the fight at his best.

In Kov’s prime Canelo would’ve either been on his bike from very early on and would’ve been stopped in the middle rounds exhausted and beaten up or had he employed the tactics he used in this fight he’d have been stopped pretty early. But as you say Canelo would have gone nowhere near Krusher in his prime.

I expected Canelo to stop him but using body shots. He’s watched the Yarde fight, been shocked how welll a very limited Yarde did in rnd 8 and booked the fight off the back of that. Canelo was very measured and did land the best punches in almost every round, just not many of them.

Canelo wanted Kovalev before Yarde.

Yarde should have taken that step aside money

i had it 5-5 going into 11th rd.

canelo upped it in the 10th and kept it up in the 11th.

didn't think it was a completely out of the blue finish.

he was knocking some of the stuffing out of him beforehand.

As for Saturday, those punch stats are a joke, Alvarez barely threw anything. What we had was a light heavy that was once a destroyer never even putting a dent in a light-middle, whose game plan seemed to be to land a KO shot late on, without having worn his opponent down in the preceding rounds. The light middle that couldn't take out Matthew Hatton. Yes, I know that was years ago, people grow and improve etc etc but come on, it's bullsh!t. Canelo is the biggest cheat in boxing and he has people falling over themselves to help him. Great shots to take Kovalev out, but how quick was the referee to wave it off? It's not like Kovalev was on his back and the ref didn't even look in his eyes to assess him. Kovalev was done but I don't see how the referee knew that at the stage he waved it off.

No it was certainly a legit non suspicious stoppage, he was gone before that almighty right-hand landed and the way he flopped with his head lolling down was enough for the ref to know it was good night, even without seeing the eyes.

Canelo’s game plan was to take his head off right from the off, they knew the Kov chin was cracked, he was narrowly missing early with the few punches he did throw.

My problem with the fight was kov was constantly behind the jab not throwing many power punches,just throwing weak arse jabs then he gets hit with a left hook which was partially blocked and he ends up with legs like a baby giraffe? Kov threw the fight then picked up his brown envelope off golden boy,to me he should be ashamed of himself and should be looked into. Boxing is corrupt as fck, whenever canelo is fightin its a plain as the nose on your face. Kov has gone down in me estimation after this fight similar to rocky fielding.
