Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin - 22 August 2020

Probably just desperate more than anything. Let’s face it, the card is headlined by a couple of drug cheats, one of whom is over 40, with the chief support being a 2min round affair. There are then only three more fights all of whom include guys who have never even headlined a regular Sky show and are probably all around or below British title level.
I can see the business logic, but knowing fighters I’d be surprised if that didn’t upset Whyte.... and he already feels undervalued.fizzjambo wrote: ↑19 Aug 2020, 16:51Probably just desperate more than anything. £20 for that? Buy this trash and you’d be as well emailing Sky directly and asking them to start increasing the cost of PPV’s even further.
Joshua is just dropped in there as click bait
Well he shouldn’t - by all accounts he’s getting an absolute mint for fighting on PPV against a bunch of also rans. Having previously been banned for cheating.Frostieballs wrote: ↑19 Aug 2020, 17:02I can see the business logic, but knowing fighters I’d be surprised if that didn’t upset Whyte.... and he already feels undervalued.fizzjambo wrote: ↑19 Aug 2020, 16:51Probably just desperate more than anything. Yeh, the more people that buy this, the more that goes in his pocket, so if he thinks having AJ’s face on a poster will get a casual interested then why not.fizzjambo wrote: ↑19 Aug 2020, 17:09Well he shouldn’t - by all accounts he’s getting an absolute mint for fighting on PPV against a bunch of also rans. Whyte has disproportionately earned well above his ability and that is largely because of the same hype and nonsense mindset that would come from someone sticking Joshua’s mug in the middle of his fight poster. Whyte can’t cry about that now
Mind you the thought of watching Bellew try to verbally deepthroat Joshua might put a few off. It’s stands to be a night of unbareable ball licking at this rateRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑19 Aug 2020, 17:12Yeh, the more people that buy this, the more that goes in his pocket, so if he thinks having AJ’s face on a poster will get a casual interested then why not.fizzjambo wrote: ↑19 Aug 2020, 17:09Well he shouldn’t - by all accounts he’s getting an absolute mint for fighting on PPV against a bunch of also rans. In my experience, that isn’t how fighters think.fizzjambo wrote: ↑19 Aug 2020, 17:09Well he shouldn’t - by all accounts he’s getting an absolute mint for fighting on PPV against a bunch of also rans. Least he knows his place once and for all now. They can’t sell him. He needs AJ.Frostieballs wrote: ↑19 Aug 2020, 17:02I can see the business logic, but knowing fighters I’d be surprised if that didn’t upset Whyte.... and he already feels undervalued.fizzjambo wrote: ↑19 Aug 2020, 16:51Probably just desperate more than anything. True. All his last fights since Browne were with some flaws. If I remember correctly, Browne did just nothing in that bout, but after that Whyte didn't have perfect performances. Yet Browne was just awful then. Povetkin will have a lot of moments.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑20 Aug 2020, 05:08 FACT
Whyte will get rocked..

Maybe, he will even get dropped..
But will he be stopped?

Whyte is known for getting rocked in his fights, it's not a Whyte fight if he doesn't get a little gassed or rocked.
Browne was fuckn abysmal. Almost as bad as Charles Martin in that he turned up to lose and barely threw a punch.DrDuke wrote: ↑20 Aug 2020, 06:24True.
