overall i was very satisfied with the fight

competitive, good spurts of action, and a good ending that provides some momentum to a bigger fight (vs spence). we saw craw step up and after some problems in the first half he got the edge and ended up with a good result.

Troll better.

I honestly can’t believe this guy Kenny Porter. He’s just that dick sports dad we all saw growing up that thinks it’s all about him. The world was going to congratulate Porter for this effort and a great career but now, we have that notion that Shawn was not putting the work required for this fight. I’m sick for the kid and I’ve never been a Porter fan.
OR....,
He wanted to protect his son who had almost zero chance of winning. AND saved him from lasting damage in later life. A lot of dad-trainers have been too brave because they think their son's chin is a reflection of their self esteem - "all about them."
Kenny did the right thing. :salut:

Exactly. Porter had enough of a lesson and flattening was a logical conclusion.

I think so. They have a very close relationship i.e. he was looking out for Porter's best interests.

It was a very high level fight. Porter was getting broken down yet still competitive until the end. TCraw, whether he will admit it or not, was having trouble catching Porter clean and dealing with his mauling. He was in control but leaving rounds too close.

Porter’s father did the right thing. Shawn was going to get destroyed if his dad did not stop it. That is the BIGGEST difference between Spence and TCraw; TCraw is an absolute assassin of a finisher. He also becomes a Godzilla when he gets buzzed.

That does not mean Spence cannot win, but if I was forced to bet right now my money would be on the Nebraskan.

2022 is looking like a monster year for boxing.

He was early-mid 20’s then. He’s grown in general. He was still cutting a lot of weight back then aswell.

Spence is a good textbook boxer, an excellent athlete. Crawford is a sublime boxing grandmaster, not just an athlete, but an artist.

Maybe Porter was too emotional with a post-fight retirement choice and he'll be back.

Crawford needs to sort it out in the way, which will finally allow him to whoop Spence next.

You can for sure, but he hasnt much and he would be 160+ now i would think. He must of been 155+lbs fighting at 135. He could of been fighting floyd and canelo instead he was fighting 135ers. Not against it, made him 3 weight champ, got him undisputed 140, kinda set his legacy decently, just an interesting thought.

This combined with the Andrade card Friday made for a really excellent weekend of boxing. Next weekend will likely be the best fight of the month though.

if not right away, let's have something like craw-danny garcia, then the big fight after that in 2022. but no more than a 1 fight waiting period

Craw vs Ugas, Spence with a post eye surgery tune up, then winners fight for undisputed.. That would be my ideal.
