Taylor is all over the place for me. Desperately trying to come across like hes just a happy go lucky guy and not affected by Catterall. Jack has got under his skin. Taylor just looks all at sea in the pressers. I don't like what I see with him. He would be better served being himself rather than trying to put on this cool routine. Just my opinion of course. Regarding the fight I think it will be more of the same. Catterall will just get hustled out of it by doing nothing in the 2nd half of the fight. Perhaps he gets the decision but this lad is one of the stinkiest fighters to come out of Britain and for that reason I am rooting for Taylor. You sit down to a Jack Catterall fight and you better not be tired because you'll be having a kip sooner rather than later. He is AWFUL to watch.

I am useless at predicting fights.

I think Josh Taylor is in massive decline. The Regis Prograis fight took an awful lot out of him. He then has had tough fights since then.

Is Jack Catterall good enough to take advantage of that decline.

This fight reminds me of Froch/Groves when George didn’t get what he deserved in the first fight.

Has Catterall got enough to beat Taylor .., I think so … but only just.

Indeed. Taylor's options have dwindled rather since he could afford to ignore a potentially difficult rematch. Back when it could have been hyped into a stadium filling PPV.

i can't see Josh having agreed to receive virtually the same purse as Jack. That would be so out of character, i could only see him accepting that if he'd hit hard times which he hasn't.

Josh is the A side, only 2 fights ago he was undisputed champ. He's much more recognisable to the casual fan too.

I like Jack but looking at it objectively he's very much the B side here. He's never beaten anybody top class, he's never held a belt, he has an unexciting style (to the casuals) and he doesn't have many fans. He'll be lucky if he's on half Josh's purse.

I think you’re well out with this Spud. Combined purses will be over £1m. Perhaps close to £2m.

They’ve got the income from DAZN for the show (who need content so people can justify their subscriptions), they’ve got ESPN income who are showing the fight in the US and 12,000 fans at c.£100 is £1m just for the gate (before expenses etc).

AJ was on regular DAZN twice last year. If they can make the financials work for him then they can for Catterall/Taylor.

Taylor is chasing a prime past and not capitalised on. Stayed at 140, should've gone up.

They spoke of him as a natural opponent for Crawford after Prograis, which post fight he said may be his last at the weight - that was 27 years ago.

Catterall knows he's not gonna make near as much money from any other fight than the Taylor one, so he has to keep hanging on for it. He's been nominated for world title eliminators, but passed them over to keep chasing the rematch. Basically, Taylor has him on strings.

The only other realistic world level fights for him which could be made within the Matchroom stable for him are Devin Haney and Subriel Matias, and to be fair I don't think he'd fancy either.

If Jack wanted to move on with his career, he'd have done it already.
