It's quite threatening for anybody, when such powerhouse constantly goes forward without being affected by the eaten shots. I wasn't taking Joe seriously before Dubois, but after that I don't get, why some continue not to rate him. He's exactly that kind of fighter, who can receive punches in order to deliver his own, a limited one, but extremely durable and able to impose his game.
Dubois hit him clean but I don’t remember Dubois landing any big right hands when Joe was in range and coming forward. Joe took the sting out of most of Dubois’ shots with his decent movement away from the right hand.
I just wonder if Joe would fight that way again. Of course he probably should but I wonder if he’s starting to believe the Juggernaut hype himself.

Kuzmin had Jo down after like 6 secs in the 1st standing count then had him down proper after 20 secs.
With head guards. Biggest lie in British boxing is Jo.
if jo's chin aint much dubs must be pretty feather fisted then since he couldnt put a dent in jo jo. kuzmin must punch 10x harder than dubs! big joe did more damage with a jab than dubs could do with any power shot
what actually proved to be the biggest 'lie' about joyce was that he was going to get smoked by the much more hyped and heavily favoured dubois.
all hail slow joe! crusher of will, destroyer of heart, smasher of hype!
I never said his chin isn’t much. He’s obviously pretty sturdy but this x5 normal bone density BT keep hyping up isn’t good; the guy can be knocked down and knocked out like anyone else with the right opponent.
I picked your boy Joe over Daniel tbh. I thought it was a little too soon for Dubs (isn’t Jo old enough to be his dad?). I tell you what though… I’d now fancy Dubois in a rematch.
Joe is decent… he isn’t doing much more in the sport imo.

Was Sam Jones there last night?
Is he still involved with Joe?
Nope. Joe’s still managed by S-Jam but Sam left them to join Probellum. I’m surprised he hasn’t left yet to try and go back.
S-Jam is run by Adam Moralee (the AM of S-Jam) and Shane Watson who stepped up once Sam left.
Thanks. Looks like Sam made a poor choice

The man has the head of a neanderthal. It's apparently 6 times the bone density of a normal fighter. He's coming forward with clubbing punches and walking through a baseball bat to the chin no problem. The only way to deal with him is going to the body and then getting out of there. I thought the Jai Opetaia style would be perfect if Opetaia was a heavyweight. Very good mobility and he can throw with very fast speed when he wants to. There is little point in landing flush punches to the head. I'm sure Joyce would walk through what Wilder has to offer and bludgeon him to the floor. An extremely good chin is a very good attribute. Froch made a career off toughness. I have heard Gypsy John Fury being asked about Joyce and he will always say that Joyce is the toughest man on the planet.

Maybe he rested his head in his hands.....it must weigh 30kg if his bones are that dense.

He was just on talkSPORT talking about his bone density.
He said it was 5 times that of a normal human (not fighter).
Apparently he has it done at a local rugby club he is affiliated with (Saracen’s?). It’s called a Dexa scan. His is higher than all the players.

Is that how boxing ‘chins’ work really? Amir Khan must have the bone density of a 6 year old, if so.

His interpretation of the results is incorrect but I see how he has arrived at that and he is an outlier.
His T score will have been five which does make him a very rare beast but it's not unheard of. The average density using that system is zero. If you have -1 your bone density is 10% below normal. If it is two it is 20% above normal. If, and we are talking probably no more than 0.1% of the population you are at 5 you have a bone density 50% above normal, but I can see how somebody could think it was five times more than normal given the way the scale is presented. Ethnicity, sex and age all play a big part in bone density readings, along with other genetic factors and to a lesser extent diet, etc.

To further clarify the zero score (or actually -1 to 1) is where 50% of 30 year old males land. That is the age used as the benchmark. A little old, Japanese lady with osteoporosis will have a score of perhaps -4 or less. A big, strapping 30-year-old black lad from Sierra Leone might be at 3, 4 or, very rarely, even higher.

You can tell Joe is a freak just by looking at him.. don’t need a fancy bone density scan .. although that does confirm things.
He was 117kg versus DD.. with visible abs and no bulging muscles.
Compare this to AJ and Wlad who were similar height and much more muscular but Wlad was 112/113 at his heaviest and AJ even at his most jacked was only 115kg versus Takam
Joe the same kind of weight that Overeem was at his absolute horse meat prime and what Francis Ngannou is currently.

Alistair used to cut from 130kg to weigh in at 120kg back then, so he was a fair bit bigger but I take your point (when they actually checked the scales) both him and Brock missed 265lbs a couple of times (I'm told)and the UFC let it slide.

agree, he's a total unit
a legit 6'6 and still pretty cut at 260+, and not in a blown up bodybuilder way. that type of size is very very rare. i remember thinking that dubois was a big big lad, but then they went face to face and joe was much more imposing
virtually any other heavyweight that weight has a soft gut and clearly has weight they could lose

Joe is a top 5 fighter in the heavies at best. He doesn’t beat Wilder, Tyson, Usyk and he’s 50/50 vs Parker, Whyte Ruiz and a 35 year old Ortiz,
He will stopped at some point. On his feet, maybe but I wouldn’t rule out a Margarito v Mosley style stoppage at all.

I'd pick Joyce to stop Whyte and Ortiz. Those two are hittable and vulnerable. They won't withstand the pressure and the power of Joe.
Parker and Ruiz will be decisioned. Parker will be timid under Joe's onslaught. Ruiz had a close fight against Parker and most recently he struggled with Arreola, so I can't pick him.
Wilder was outboxed by many fighters, whom he eventually caught. So, there is only a puncher's chance against Joyce, especially considering that Wilder can be overpowered by a big strong fella easily.
Joshua can outbox Joyce, but will he be able to do it successfully for the whole distance? I doubt it.
Fury and Usyk indeed have tools to deal with Joyce, I'd confidently pick these two over Joe.

SkyBet had Parker v Joyce fairly close. Beats no issue Parker? Surely there’s a chance he gets outboxed? Parker won’t stand there like a melon trying to bang out Mr Indestructible.

Anyone can get KO'd. Especially at HW.
Against Dubois he fought strategically and put on a clinic.
Wilder-Joyce has a little bit of Hagler-Hearns about it. Hammer meets anvil.
If Joe fights cautiously early on and then starts to put his foot down he will beat almost all the HWs out there.

Dubois landed pretty clean in the second and Joyce didn't flinch at all and from that point on Joyce had a hell of a mental edge and the 'caaaam on saaaannnn this is the fight game!' started coming out in the Dubois corner.
