Garcia looked weak as piss and weight drained. Needs to move up in weight now.
One think I’ll say about Tank is the speed of his uppercuts are ridiculous. Saw it with Santa Cruz and now Garcia.

Well, that was that, not a particularly brutal looking body shot, but obviously hit the spot, and Garcia is counted out on one knee.
My immediate reaction is that the whole fight was a disappointment, especially Garcia.
Yes it's sad because he has the ability, the potential but doesn't utilise his attributes in the best way. He was following Tank around the ring, not utilising his jab enough. Amazing physical attributes but lacks fight IQ and mental fortitude.

Garcia lost spirit after opening up in the second only to get dropped. Davis technically excellent and patient too. Not the most exciting fight, and wonder if Garcia's heart is really in the game.

Yes, he was extra cautious with every right to be. He couldn't hurt Tank, he didn't want to get hurt by him either. The fight was slipping away from him and I believe the body shot was enough for him to get out of the fight.

Confident start from Garcia, maybe too confident, he was walking Davis down, Davis was backing off and holding when Garcia got up close, Garcia was still able to club him with shots when he getting held then in the 2nd Davis dropped Garcia with a sweet left hand counter, Garcia got up well and didnt look hurt but it put him back in his box and he lost all confidence, never through his jab after and looked like his belief had all but gone, Davis wasn't even doing that much better but he was dictating things, landing enough left hands to keep Garcia at bay and picking up the rounds , Garcia as just starting to find his confidence again in the 6th and 7th when he got creased to the stomach by a left hand, I noticed straight away his legs stiffen but still never expected a knee and a KO, not surprised at the result tbh but I expected more dawg

To be at the very top you’ve got to have a huge amount of mental strength and confidence and despite how he portrays himself and for me Garcia hasn’t got it.

Fight fans moan the best don’t fight the best, Garcia gives up significant advantages to make the fight happen, loses then gets called garbage

Is anyone else puzzled by a body shot like that ending the fight? It was basically a push punch. I feel like I've seen thousands of fighters over the years shake off worse. Barkley took humongous, sickening shots to his sides against Hearns without going down.
I just can't believe such a shot made Garcia fold.

If you get a good still photograph off it you can see tank had good form with a short but solid shot, landed clean liver (tiny bit high but still clean liver) and the main factor is garcias positioning,
He is square and upright with his right hand out to his side starting to hook, in a terrible spot to take a body shot. . I agree I’m surprised it ended the fight, I think he could have tried to continue, but little body taps when not ready sometimes fold people a bit unexpectedly.

When you are made to weight drain that's what happens .
Mind you he didn't have to take the fight .

Nothing to do with the making weight. He jacked. He went to get up at 8 nodded to say he was ok and stayed down. If he wanted to he could have boxed on. I’m not knocking him for quitting but that is what he did.

Agree with all that and yet it just seemed a bit feeble on Garcia's part. I can't believe he couldn't get up. I feel like we see doomed importees take worse shots on a weekly basis and will themselves to their feet ahead of the next KD. Where was Garcia's pride, his fire?
I thought Garcia would have to be knocked cold by a head shot to be counted out, not timidly quit. I guess all the red flags were there with him ahead of time.

Ryan looked great in the 2nd, going for the KO, but Tank always seems to find the punch when he needs it, and that’s what he did, putting Garcia in his place and that was pretty much that….
Safe to say that was one of those perfectly placed body shots, where you try and breath in, and you can’t, and you’re not getting up from that inside 10 seconds. Ryan just couldn’t get up, I don’t think he quit.

I’m hesitant to call it a quit in the normal sense. We know Tanks power is something terrible and I don’t think many would have said much if Garcia didn’t get up off the KD in the 2nd which was a brutal counter.
Ryan was struggling to land a jab and only got success with a few rights hands. Tank was by far the superior boxer and puncher and when the body shot hit him which was a sickener, I think Ryan probably could have got to his feet, but he was badly shaken and calculated it in his head that if he carried on he was about to go out on his face or back.
In conclusion he gave it a good go, but he was outclassed and being hurt and decided to prot3ct his health, which is fine by me.

Totally agree, especially as he wasn't allowed to rehydrate properly.
