Thankfully all those words from Eddie (and Fwank) weren't just empty words. This could be the greatest card ever assembled and credit to them both for coming together to get it done. It's almost as if they spoke the same words for once.

So, question to the forum, how does this compare to previous great cards that have been put together?

I can remember watching the Don King megacards from the 90's, usually festuring a heavyweight main event backed up by the likes of JCC, Julian Jackson etc. However, a lot of those support fights were usually the Don King fighter walking through a mismatched opponent (Jackson v McClellan being an exception).

I can't remember a card featuring this many current world title holders and former world title holders all on the same bill. My memory is pretty shite nowadays though.

I like the show and I’ll buy it.

There are several one sided fights on paper though. Hrgovic, Bivol, Opetaia and I’d imagine the odds on the main 2 fights are pretty wide too.

I can’t think of a better card but I’d be surprised if there isn’t a better one.

One really good card I remember was 9th November 1996:

Holyfield vs Tyson
Moorer vs Botha
Akinwande vs Zolkin
Welch vs Neto

And earlier in the evening, from Manchester:

Collins vs Benn 2
Naz vs Molina
Winky Wright vs Bingham

Good card because Joshua and Wilder are on the same bill, Zorro getting a title shot at Opetaia is mental, even more bizarre than Thompson getting one, as for Mark De Mori and Hrgovich sheesh, Haye got panned for fighting him yonks ago, Arthur against Bivol is terrible as well , I like Joshua/Wallin and Wilder v Parker is slightly intriguing mainly due to Wilder's age and inactivity

Really though Joshua and Wilder on the same card might have been acceptable 5/6 years ago to build a fight but in nigh on 2024, very poor

I realised during the presser, after Dev introduced Hrgovic, that he's probably got the most to lose, given he's probably(?) next in line for a shot at the winner of Usyk v Fury...or whoever has the IBF title...or vacant title.
Given that, he's probably entitled to have a walk over with De Mori.

mak vs kay is nice for sure. fa though i think is fairly pants and imo another totally meh match for sanchez
