Haye said it after the fight as well.

Said that Usyk’s team told him they scored it and thought Chisora edged it.

It’s nothing new now.
Headlines in today’s Sun. I’m surprised too as I thought it was common knowledge that most people scored that for Del.

I didn't write the article, mate. Just a reminder that away from hardcore fans a lot of people scored for Del.

Was Haye Chisora's manager at the time of the Usyk fight?

Wouldn’t really trust casuals. Easily swayed.

Probably all that Bellew shouting.

I've got a feeling this fight is going to be a dull distance fight.

It certainly could be that. Punchers have a tendency to see the KO's dry up as they get older.

I’m not a fan of the fight but I might just go for the bundle, there’s some interest on the undercard tomorrow and Wardley v Dubois is a must.

As for this main event, Wilder has looked abysmal of late but how much does Del have left really? He does have a knack of landing punches when he is knackered (which happens early on) but is he any less shot than Deontay.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see a Wilder stoppage at all. He must have taken about 1000 less head shots than Chisora in his career.

That's the thing a lot of people seem to be forgetting. They're all saying "Wilder is shot!" as if Chisora hasn't been beaten up more often by more people.

I've been calling him "Loser to the Stars" for 10+ years now, and in all that time, he's never made me change that nickname.

Gloves dispute between Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora settled

The gloves issue between Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora has been resolved.

They fight on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, England, in a heavyweight contest. The bout will be the 50th as a professional for each man. Chisora has promised to retire after reaching half a century of fights, regardless of the result. Wilder has promised to fight on in an attempt to claim another world championship.

There were reports on Friday morning at the official weigh-in that there was a dispute surrounding the gloves that would be worn for Saturday’s fight.

“It’s not the first time there has been a flare up around big heavyweight fights and the gloves,” said MF Pro’s Kalle Sauerland told iFL TV. “It is also not the first fight involving Deontay Wilder involving gloves.

“Yes, there were some dramatics at the weigh-in. There are some issues around the gloves, I can confirm that.”

Boxing Scene understands that the dispute has since been resolved.

Blooming heck that is very overweight for Chisora, isn’t it? That’s 19 stone. Even for somebody his build, a big man naturally, you only end up that heavy if your training regime is sitting around eating cakes and lifting weights.

I really hope it’s on purpose, to be able to absorb punches and to have weight behind his punches to force a stoppage. Please can’t we just have an entertaining fight between two shot old codgers who are just going to give it their best shot one final time?

All this tacky bollocks with Farrage on a tank, masks and made up ‘glove issues’ is just making me think we’re about to served a turkey.

It genuinely baffles me how people scored that to Chisora.

He had 3 good rounds at the start & then doesn’t come close to winning a round after that in my opinion.

Bellew had 3 good rounds at the start too..

Know why? Usyk usually spends those rounds working out his opponents before taking over.

Yeah, that is his style very much so in fact.

It's a shame Itauma isn't a bit further down the road, as I think he has the right style to push Usyk hard- he is fast, and mobile for a big man, and puts together his shots well.

The template to beat Usyk, is to match his tempo, obviously, that means you have to be as fit as Usyk, too many modern heavyweights are carrying far too much weight, and they are not in proper condition to fight at a pace.

The Holyfield who fought Bowe in those first two fights, would have given Usyk hell, Evander was tough as nails, had a really good workrate back then, and could fight either at midrange dancing in and out, or in the pocket, where his left hook came to play. The 1st and 2nd fights with Bowe, are really the last top tier heavyweight fight I can think of, that was fought at a hectic pace for the duration of both fights.

Chisora gave Usyk some hard moments, but he's a big old lump, and not that skilled, so wasn't able to maintain the pace, nor adapt his gameplan as he's a one speed fighter with one tactic in the main, which is to smother and overwhelm opponents.
