I think that lets Trump off the hook too easily. However, what is certain is that all of this massively benefits the Israelis, even if they don't achieve their desire of regime change, they have massively damaged Iran to the extent they are not going to be a threat for several years.
One unintended consequence, however, is that many younger Americans are developing a negative opinion of the US's relationship with Israel, and these are the voters of the future.

Replace it with Obama. Nothing will piss him off more. They should rename the Kennedy Center, the Obama-Kennedy Center.
