There have been no reports whatsoever of Barrera signing a contract, or quotes from him.

Until I see evidence to the contrary, F**k Warren and his f*cking lies

I saw a fortune-teller lunchtime.

She forewarned of a little mexican fella badly twisting his ankle in February, and an overweight Venezualan super-middleweight with palpatations getting a world title shot at cruiserweight in March.

Now before you doubt her word, the last time I saw her in November she foretold of Evander Holyfield clearly outworking and outscoring his opponent in a world title fight. Mentalist I thought.

Ok, she's not perfect but she's no mug.

It just occurred to me that Khan v Prescott was Khan's last fight on his contract with Warren wasn't it. Since then i've never heard how many fights he's signed on for.

Well here's my latest theory. Khan is on a fight by fight deal and FW knows Khan wants to go it alone and so is cashing in and hobbling Amir at the same time as he'd simply explode with bitterness if Khan made money post SN like Hatton & Calzaghe.

Other than that i can't imagine while a fighter who had his hands full with Gomez last summer and then got splattered would be fed to a long in the tooth, smaller but leagues better fighter like Barrera.

Well, the fact that it sells lots of tickets, and "outshines" all the other shows that have been announced for early this year.....

That explains why the announce this fight, anyway.

Prescott was the first fight on a new contract. It is rumoured that this is the last of a 3-fight deal with Warren and Sky.

Couple of months to go yet, there are little things that could get in the way, such as Barerra's upcoming fight at the end of this month!
But still. Why announce it publicly if there's a chance that "little things that could get in the way". There can't be any contract signed yet. Or there would be some word from Barrera or King.

Why can't Frank just announce a fight. Once he has the contracts signed, and in his hands? Is he hoping to sell out the MEN before people realize Amir Khan is fighting Joe Le Taxi?
