It is expected by many that Benn will be booed during his ring walk to face his bitter rival Chris Eubank Jnr. Benn was once loved by the British public, selling out arenas up and down the country, and had the support of a nation heading into his original slated contest with Eubank Jnr.

Don’t think I’ve disliked a fighter more than I do Benn.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | PPV - 26 April 2025
I'm apathetic towards Conor really. If anything I lean towards feeling a bit sorry for him. He's a product of his upbringing and heritage like us all. Nigel always struck me as being a bit of a weak character out of the ring and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The drug stuff isn't something I hold against him, I think the system encourages these young lads to make the choices they do and I've always been more of a hate the game not the player sort of person.smiling assassin wrote: ↑24 Apr 2025, 10:59 Don’t think I’ve disliked a fighter more than I do Benn.
Chris is somebody I like so I'd prefer for him to win but I'm not massively bothered either way, this is a huge fight and a tiny fight at the same time.

CONOR BENN INVITES BILLY JOE SAUNDERS TO INSPECT CHRIS EUBANK JR'S HAND WRAPS ON FIGHT NIGHT
Conor Benn has cranked up the mind games ahead of Saturday night’s grudge match with Chris Eubank Jr by inviting another of the 35-year-old’s bitter rivals to supervise his hands being wrapped.
Years before Eubank Jr and Benn ever even thought about fighting each other, the Brighton man had a long-running feud with Billy Joe Saunders.
It is 11 years in November since the pair clashed on a tempestuous night at the ExCel Arena, London with Saunders winning via split decision to hand Eubank the first defeat of his career.
The Hatfield southpaw went on to win world titles at both middleweight and super-middleweight but has not boxed since he was stopped by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in the eighth round of their 2021 168lb unification fight at the AT&T Stadium, Texas.
Saunders, now 30-1 (14), is currently plotting his own return to the ring but, during an exclusive interview with The Ring, revealed that he may be in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night as an official part of Team Benn.
Each fighter is allowed to nominate a person to enter their opponent’s changing rooms pre-fight to supervise the hand wrapping process to ensure nothing outside of the rules takes place. Now Saunders says Benn has asked him to take on that responsibility for him.
He said: “Conor Benn has actually asked me to come and watch Eubank’s hands get wrapped up. I’m going to have a call with him later to discuss it. He wants me to go in there and make sure there’s no cheating with the hand wraps. The one person Eubank will not want to see on the night is me.
“I think it’s going to be a good fight, but I want to see Conor Benn knock him out cold. Regardless of the result, I’ve always got the win over him so it doesn’t really matter to me. I would like to see Conor Benn knock him out cold and if I can help him do so then I will.
“Strangely enough I was actually in the same hotel as him in London the other week. I hollered at him through a window and he made his driver drive off. There was no malice, I was just going to give him a bit of stick but he’s probably seen me and thought ‘I’m making weight, I could do without this today’.
“Trouble is, he might have to see me on fight night now instead.”
Eubank, who is the naturally bigger man and a veteran of more fights than the 28-yer-old, has been made the favourite with oddsmakers for the headliner at the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves event but Saunders is adamant the size difference will be no problem for Benn due to his success in sparring.
He added: “I know first hand that Conor Benn has been looking very explosive in sparring. I’m not going to mention any names but I know he’s knocked a couple of them out clean, cold in sparring. I’ve also seen a video of him dropping a world-class British super-middleweight in sparring.
“Clearly Benn has had a great camp and is in great shape. So if Eubank thinks he’s going to go in there and use the bully tactics, something tells me Conor Benn is going to knock him out. Something tells me he’s going to get caught and Benn will take him out. If Liam Smith can knock him out, then Conor Benn definitely can. Something tells me he’s going to knock Eubank out.
“Size is a massive factor in this fight but you have to let the body grow. Since we boxed as beginners in 2014, he has been around this weight. That’s 11-12 years. Is that going to catch up with him now?”
“He’s 35 now and the best belt he’s ever won is a British title. He’s British-European level at best. He will never be a world champion and he will never, as long as he has got a hole in his arse, whether I was finished or not, beat me in a boxing match. My brain alone is too good for him.”

SHALOM CLAIMS GREEN LIGHT ON £1 MILLION EUBANK-BENN BET WITH EDDIE HEARN
Ben Shalom has claimed that the general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control Robert Smith ‘sees no problem’ with the £1m bet between him and Eddie Hearn on the outcome of Chris Eubank Jr v Conor Benn.
The two promoters had agreed to the staggering wager on the main event at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Eubank and Benn will finally meet on The Ring’s Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves card, live on DAZN PPV.
It had been suggested that Shalom, who promotes Eubank, and Hearn, who has promoted Benn for his entire career, would have a straight £1m bet on the fight winner.
But in March, Hearn revealed during an interview with IFL TV that an email from the British Boxing Board of Control had reminded everyone involved of ‘regulation 30’ which 'states that any member, ie licence holder, cannot bet, advise anyone else to bet or permit to bet on any event that they have any involvement with'.
Now, during an interview with The Ring, Shalom has cranked up the pressure on Hearn by claiming that a personal bet between them on the outcome of the fight would not be breaking any rules, according to Smith.
“He keeps trying to get out of this bet that he put on,” Shalom told Louis Hart.
“He put this on and now he wants to go off it and he keeps running into Robert Smith to try and get out of it.
“It’s absolutely fine, we are betting on them to win, Robert Smith told me he saw no problem with it.
“You are backing your fighters, it’s us v them, we’re both getting paid out of the event and you could easily have an extra million for the winner and less for the loser. It’s absolutely fine to happen.
“He’s going on about the changes of the rules and all that stuff but we don’t need to change the rules, let’s do it.”
When asked for a response by The Ring, Smith said: “I advised on the situation with regard to the rules some time ago. I told Ben there was a regulation in place that has been in place for many years. It seems This is more a wager between two people.”

It’s not the cheating that made me hate him it was how he handled the whole situation. Add into the mix that he has called out all the top Welters and then ends up fighting Orozco and Dobson (no disrespect to these two), just doesn’t sit right with me.Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑24 Apr 2025, 11:08I'm apathetic towards Conor really. If he wins on Saturday it will be down to Eubank Jr being past his best as Benn has shown nothing of being on the same Level as Eubank since the Failed tests.

sadly Ben Shalom confirmed this morning on TalkSport that there is a rematch clause. hopefully for only if Eubank loses.
Nigel Benn is begging Eubank Snr to attend so they can all have a big hug at the end of the fight. I'd rather he runs in and clears the ring royal rumble style
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | PPV - 26 April 2025
Considering I’ve been less offended than many folk regarding Benn’s PED antics, and I usually root for an underdog, I’m with Eubank Jr all the way for this one. But then for some reason I always root for Eubank Jr.
That said, if Benn gets shaken up early and looks out of his depth, I wouldn’t be surprised to feel that underdog-supporting mentality speedily coming to the surface.
If Benn somehow made easy work of it on Saturday however, the post fight interview alone would be unbearable.

His Eggcellency has now got the same beard as Eubank Jr.
I bet he's trolling Chris because Jr's beard is a hair transplant job.
