Gil C, imo is too slick and smooth for Frankie C.

I was surprised, just remember when it comes to computer outcomes garbage in garbage out. lol.

Now if the programmer finds out I said that I suppose I'll get some feedback.

This is pretty much how I see it.
I wanted your input on the Cadilli-Crawford match, as you knew them both. I didn't know Cadilli, but I knew he was special.
Crawford was a guy who was competitive with most top fighters, and some big names. But what I saw of Cadilli showed me he was too slick for Frankie, real calculating. I think it would have been a good fight, because they'd have fought.

Jeffries-Quarry?

I never really thought of this, I never saw Jeffries box aside from ancient footage.
I saw Quarry from start-to-finish, and often from right up close.
We'll never really know, well we?

Cadilli, like most Johnny Forbes trained fighters was to disciplined to get into a brawl with Frankie C. he would not do a Mando Ramos thing and go toe to toe with Frankie, imo he would outboxed Frankie over the course of the bout.

I have to say I had to "reset" the Cadilli Crawford fight twice because I wanted them to face each other at their best. The computer attempted to send Crawford in both overtrained on one occasion and with "personal problems" on the other. I over rode it and sent them both in at their "best".

If I would have just stayed out of it, I think Cadilli would have won. So maybe the programmer did know a thing or two.

"Over trained"???? Crawford NEVER over trained. Hell, he rarely trained at all, ever. Personal problems?
The computor does not know the men, so it cannot even vagely project an accurate result, only by coincidence.

When Smokin Joe came to town . . .

It was 1966. Frazier was 8-0 (8 KO's). He'd fight on two consecutive thursdays, score two KO's
When Frazier came to town with his manager, Yancey Durham, they picked up a local to help in the corner, Eddie Futch.
I remember cutting out of school a little early to be at the Main Street Gym to see Frazier workout.

The gym was packed. Allan Malamud and Bud Furillo were there from the Herald-Examiner, John Hall from the Times.
There was a local TV News crew present, but not the over-the-top crap you see today.
I was perched right between the two rings, assured of a good seat regardless of which ring Frazier would use to warm-up.
When he made his way thru the crowd to the ring, he was wearing a white terry cloth robe, he had massive legs. Powerful.

I watched him warm-up, and I watched him box with two different heavyweights that day. I don't remember who they were?
He was a devistating heavyweight, Joe Frazier. I don't know who the sparring partners were, but when Frazier's hook slammed against there bodies it landed with a thud. I was impressed, and became a Frazier fan. Quarry was my guy, but damn this guy was good.

I remember that when Frazier stepped into the ring, prior to warming up, he was joined by Mando Ramos, then an upcoming 130 pounder.
Ramos just stepped into the ring in street clothes, to pose for a photo with Joe, two future world champs.
I remember being most surprised to discover that Mando Ramos was as tall as Frazier, maybe a little taller.
I've seen that photo published many times over the years, of Mando and Joe Frazier early in their careers.

It was just another day at the Main street Gym. One I'll never forget.

In this case the computer actually said that Salas had been taking too many fights, and Ramos had been visiting the bars in the nights preceding this fight.

I completely agree with Frank's picks on the 1st batch as well as his results (Torres by KO Gav by decision and Carter by stoppage). On the 2nd batch I again agree with Frank's picks and almost all the results. The only one I'm having a problem with is Bossman Jones against Fitzpatrick. Fitz had a kill or be killed style and I think Bossman may just lower the boom on him, can't see it going the distance. The 3rd batch I do see Ramos decisioning Salas in a great scrap but Aragon was a lightweight in his prime and think Lopez is a little too imposing physically and would decision Art. Great choices and great picks Frank. Let me think on this and I'll throw out a few.
