Nikolai Valuev vs Owen Beck

Julio Cesar Chavez v Hector Camacho

Systematic beating administered by Chavez in this one, Camacho couldn't deal with the relentless work rate and combinations from the Mexican. JCC cut the ring off nicely and Hector's pot shots on the move did next to nothing to deter Julio who went up and down with plenty of precision. The JCC left hook to the body was on point throughout alongside the lead right hand which scored at will, busting up Macho to the point that his left eye was all but closed by R8.

Camacho showed plenty of balls to fight back in pockets through R9-12 and hear the final bell despite taking a lot of punishment however this version of Camacho had no answer to Chavez, clinic in pressure fighting.

Valuev stops Beck in 3 to retain his World Heavyweight title, he looked pretty decent actually Valuev, put his shots together nicely and had no issues landing, he dropped Beck in the 2nd with a right hand, after that the writing was on the wall, Beck was down again in the 3rd by a big right uppercut, he barely made count and he was on shaky legs but the ref bizarrely let him carry on when Valuev walked up and hit him with a big right then the ref jumped straight in

I'm betting you cannot wait to move on from Valuev! None as die-hard as you mate!

Nikolai Valuev vs Monte Barrett



Valuev stops Barrett in the 11th to retain his World Heavyweight title, brave effort from Barrett all he had was the wild overhand right but he made ir work occasionally and he wasnt intimidated by Valuev's size, Valuev controlled him with the jab/straight right though, he had Barrett down in the 8th from a 1/2 and Barrett was down a few times but the ref kept calling push, 2 or 3 should've been knockdowns, things were over in the 11th, a jab had Barrett down heavily and it was finally called, Barrett more exhausted and accumitive punches wearing him down, Valuev was pouring it on when Barrett's corner stormed the ring to save their man, terrible refereeing throughout, if he'd called all the times Valuev should've scored KDs then he maybe wouldn't have let Barrett take that punishment

Ruslan Chagaev vs Nikolai Valuev


Chagaev beats Valuev by close MD to become World Heavyweight champion, should've been widely unanimous, Valuev barely won a single round, just plodded forward trying to work jab to no effect, Chagaev's southpaw style gave him kittens, he used the right jab and followed up with straight or looping left hands, no issues landing on Valuev, he boxed and moved for 12 rounds, dominating things, the height differential was a hindrance to Valuev and he was ineffective all night, a clever fight from Chagaev and shouldve been a landslide
