Take your point but, Wlad was 39 years old. A champ in a pretty weak era also (however how long).
Fury unbeaten since then versus a limited puncher (huge puncher) x 3, Del Boy, Otto and a Seferi brother. Oh yeah Dillian too.

It has been 8 years since he beat Wlad but after Fury/Wilder 2 they adjusted the algorithm specifically because he was still below Joshua and Wilder below Whyte and Ruiz(?). They also inflated Wilder's points through the adjustment of the algorithm, probably somehow giving more credit to his wins over Stiverne and Ortiz which is laughable. They adjusted how much the points dropped over time and his rating actually shot up after he beat Seferi. For everyone else it seems they drop significant amounts of points after lay offs but not Fury. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason they now hide the ratings.

Fury is risk adverse. The problem for Fury is he will have to fight either Joyce, Usyk or AJ which are capable of beating him. Usyk is obviously the most dangerous to his record and he knows that, therefore he will swerve this fight at all costs. AJ is high risk, he probably doesn't want any of that. Joyce is medium risk so seems the logical move.

Fury v Joyce is up next.

Fury will cash out against Usyk I think. He has three fights tops left in him.

I kind of agree with you. All this talk of Fury v Joyce. I don’t believe Fury is up for that sort of challenge. Joyce is really on a roll. I can’t imagine Fury fancies that sort of war of attrition one bit. I think he’s sitting things out this year. Happy buggering about in sunny Morecambe.

After Fury v Wilder 2. Wilder dropped to about 5 or 6 on boxrec. A few days later they changed the algorithm and Wilder was #2. A consequence of this was it messed up all the other rankings. E.g. seeing Tank Davis ranked above Josh Taylor at Junior Welterweight. And other god awful "anomalies"

Basically what I am saying is, Boxrec is fiddling their rankings. I think it's no coincidence that allegedly (edit: Why has the name FW of QP been replaced with "allegedly"?) used boxrec to justify Fury v Chisora...

So, on the one hand, I wouldn't get your hopes up of them putting Usyk at #1. On the other hand Boxrec has awful rankings, so what does it matter.

At least The Ring and TBRB took a stand on his second retirement and both now have Usyk as Heavyweight Champion.

I think Fury claims to retire soon to be able to sit out this year and wait for a big money one off fight early next year.

Usyk can't be #1 too. Winning Joshua and Chisora isn't enough. Fury's resume is better, since he has Klitschko, Wilder, Whyte, Chisora, Wallin.

Even if Fury contributed more to the fall of the negotiations, he can't be automatically pulled down in the rankings. He was favored to win and he will be until he performs worse than Usyk in the future or loses to him. If Fury fights Joyce, when Usyk fights Dub, Fury's resume still will be improving over Usyk's.

But he hasn’t imploded. He’s lost a lot of fans, yes, but he’s still got a lot more than he did post Wlad. He’s also loaded, unbeaten and still champ. He’s not flavour of the month but he certainly hasn’t imploded.

Disagree with talk of fury -Joyce being a distraction rather than build him back up to the fearless fighting man , it will just strenghten his duck resume , because i honestly think Fury will dodge Joyce just has much has Usyk
