People are overreacting, Robin Reid was warned for punching Sven Ottke square in the face, we haven't hit German or Italian levels yet and the ridiculous card was by the American. If I had to pick a winner, it would be Beltran, but I can see a draw for Burns if the close rounds go in his favour and with the home crowd they were always likely to.

Cmon expe, thats being kind. Burns was getting away with holding nearly every round and should of had a point/s deducted. That's aside from him getting beaten up.

That was years ago. There was no way anyone other than the cynical West of Scotland folk (ie me) could call that fight a "draw". Even Buffer had his comments ready!

No overreaction. Ray Beltran is the world champion and the governing bodies can fook off as us fans know the truth.

A point should have come off, but it didn't, I could easily have seen Beltran winning by 3, but no more than that and while the officiating was poor, it wasn't up, or down I should say, to German standards.

Even if there were a financial penalty for not saying full on lies you'd hope that with a TV camera in your face you'd tell the truth, honestly, all the world can see you lie through your teeth FFS

i think burns owes beltran a rematch. Its not burns' fault he showed real heart and is hard as a coffin nail but fairs fair he lost by a couple of points. Burns is a class act and im sure he wont want to keep hold of a belt if he isnt the true champion, i would be surprised if he didnt want the opportunity to prove the belt belongs to him.

I actually think burns is alot better than he showed tonight he wasnt working his jab properly and probably could have made life alot easier for himself by not leaving his chin exposed whilst telegraphing left hands, he could have double up that jab all night long and fought on the back foot.

Keep hearing this "Burns is better" line, when's he going to show it? Beating a shadow of Michael Katsidis, an over-hyped Mitchell, a faded Moses, taking a victory over Gonzalez and now a flat out gift with Beltran. Can we stop the whole "Burns is better" and ask, is he?

Yeah but gonzolez shocked us all with his quality the guy looked like he was about to become the next big thing then burns went into the trenches and he quit. Theres more than one way to win a fight and heart is one of them it was as deserving win as any, in fact i thought is was a more respectable win that if he had cruised to an easy victory against someone useless. He outfought a vastly more skilled opponent.

As nice a guy as Ricky is, he's got a kid to feed, he'll do what he's told end of. No rematch. And I don't blame him, he's overachieved and is prob making more money than he ever dreamed.

He couldn't keep the guy off cos his powers not top level, and he fights scared when they walk through him. I really like the guy, but its obv. he's had his big results.

Beltran was also knocked out in 4 rounds by Ameth Diaz though who Vasquez beat pretty easily.

There is no way that fight was a draw or a Burns win. Or if there was I didn't see it. I had it 116-112 for Beltran.

Burns was also allowed to hold all night without getting even so much as a warning.
