I'm not sure BigRed, Fury is a professional boxer and there's supposed to be a pretty level playing field. I imagine (but don't know) that if a bout between Fury and Ustinov were signed then both men would train to box each other and study the other for weaknesses etc. It is a high stakes game. If the day before the bout Ustinov's uncle fell gravely I'll and he pulled out I'd not take it that he were a coward.

Just sticking with the facts that are already out there, you find out your late substitute has been training for you all along whilst you've been concentrating on someone else, you have to take a massive pay cut and then your uncle goes into a coma during a routine operation.... If Pulev pulls out next month and they offer the fight to Tyson for £20 the day before people on here will be screaming coward at him. The whole episode stunk, and that's without the personal problems.

The part about Ustinov training specifically for Fury for months is speculative to say the least. The rest is fair enough. You're a loyal guy, Mickey, but if you look at this from a more general perspective, you've got to admit that it's easy to see why some people are suggesting Fury swallowed. Rightly or wrongly, that's certainly the majority impression people have in Europe and The States.

Ustinov was not training for Fury its a load of crap he's been sparring chisora, this is more conspiracy theory nonsense from people and excuses. Ustinov has more likely been training his arse off to get back in the mix and training for larger fighters due to the numerous other huge heavy weights on the circuit.

If his uncle slipped into a coma then i think thats a fair enough reason to pull out if they are close.

I never said months, weeks is long enough. Have you seen Peters Tweets today? Thanking everyone for their support and he is still keeping a vigil as he's still in a coma.

Is there any proof though to be fair that Ustinov had been training specifically for Fury anyway?

Correct ,, he was sparring Chisora , if he was training for Tyson he would of been sparring bigger guys , Its BOLLOCKS and its excuses asnd i agree he will have been training hard to get in the mix , after all he is a pro fighter and he must see he's in with a chance , at least has good a chance has Tyson to pick up that one big payday they all want .

I'm observing rather than giving an opinion on the rights and wrongs. I've already said that if my brother was in a bad way, I'd not be working, I'd be by his bed.

If they'd left it with Hughie being ill, people would think it was reality check time for Tyson and his outbursts about fighting blind, etc were just youthful bluster. They didn't and it's the conspiracy/paranoia stuff that throws up real questions.

I think, if I was team Fury, I would try and get in negotiations to square off against Ruslan Chagaev for the WBA 'Regular' title that he won from Fres Oquendo. I imagine, though, since he's been inactive Fury would have to fight someone of note in order to get ranked again--- so how about this: David Price, then Chagaev for the title.

fury fought Cunningham without peter in his corner cos of visa issues, now its the reason to throw this fight away? come on, no none here fell off a xmas tree. if they had brought lucas browne in as a late replacement fury would have been in there like a sh1thouse rat. as it is, he took one look at Ustinov and decided that was one drive he didn't fancy attempting to tarmac.

Did Ustinov have a bout scheduled?

No, hence why he was working as a paid sparring partner and available at short notice as a stand-in.

Don't forget Wach was also in Chisoras camp so Ustinov and Wach would of been sparring together.

But I don't believe Ustinov was training specifically to fight Fury but clearly was in good shape and I think it would of been a 50/50 fight.

And at his lowest weight in years, did he get so trim to look good on the beach?

Iv'e backed Fury up as soon as the Ustinov fight got scrapped and can totally agree with his reasons if genuine which until proved otherwise ive no reason to doubt, sick uncle 'n all but if theres any truth that he pulled out coz Ustinov was in shape then he's lost a lot of my respect, partly because the way he's accused other fighters previous

No Mickey , not in the least , just don't go for the conspiracy theory. I believe he just got in shape because he's a profesional fighter and can see how bad the heavyweight scene really is , I think it would of been a 50-50 fight and if Tyson can manipulate himself into a big payday then so can he . .

Time will tell , because Tyson has said he does'nt want to fighjt chisora , Frank has said he will he's contracted , if it does'nt happen and Tyson gets his own way ,, who else is there .

Makes me wonder if Tyson given time to train for the fight would go for it , we know Ustinov will , somehow i doubt Tyson will , so who is he gonna fight next if its not pRICE , cHISORA OR uSTINOV
seems to me its becoming a who's who of who the galant , fear no man , baddest man on the planet will actually step in the ring with .

A sparring partner is in shape to spar 6 rounds, they are not in the shape of their life unless they have a fight coming up themselves.

Everyone has their own opinion on the matter, I've put my 2 pence worth in.

You'd have to be an idiot to think that fury pulled out purely over his uncle.

Especially when he was whinging about ustinov having a full camp etc. he got rattled at the weigh in and then bottled it I reckon.

Hmmmm that's three major difficult things to get his head round - Chisora, wife, Uncle. Just became too much to take on I guess.

Tyson must've felt the world was against him. He is an emotional guy so one can understand his head being all over the place.....

Just bad luck for everyone involved.

My only 'negative' comment about the situation is that team Fury should've put out a press release of this nature earlier - for the fans and those who spent their hard earned.
