What was that 'I walk this Earth like God' business, bit over the top isn't it?Rob3_142 wrote:Nelson: "What round?"

Cheers Charles.
And don't you think he's an old looking 29, he looks about 37 - 38 to me?

I've not watched it myself yet mate. They things are a bit uncomfortable and cringe! I might watch it next week in the run up to fight night to get me in the mood.Oiky wrote:i'm still yet to watch the whole face off thing and i'm beginning to think its just divvynessStuarty30 wrote:He never said that did heOffal wrote: What was that 'I walk this Earth like God' business, bit over the top isn't it?

I get the feeling Joshua is Walter Mitty in this fight

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Charles Martin (c) - April 9th 2016
I strongly fancy Joshua for the KO win but i still know that Martin brings danger to this fight with his height, stance and power, not to mention the fact that being the champ will likely bring confidence that holding a world title does,im sure Sky and the casuals think this is a formality but for me this has the danger of Price/Thompson 1
Im a big fan of AJ though and believe he will reach the top and he has the tools and temprement to stay there for a while, ive seen people say he's slow but i disagree,i think he's quick for a HW and that speed with his power makes him too much for Martin and pretty much the rest of the division to handle, its a big gamble at this stage of his career but as the saying goes if your good enough....
Martin's power definitly poses problems for Anthony though and he(AJ) will have to be careful he doesnt get careless or let the occasion bring out the wrecklessness he showed in the Whyte fight where the occasion seem to get to him too along with the rivalry,so im hoping he learned from that and can use the experience he gained and bring it to this fight,i was impressed with the way he reacted and stood up to Dilian's power although he was injured and couldnt capatalise, still Joshua showed decent whiskers
Its hard to gauge Martin's last fight against Glazkov, infact i can take nothing from it ,still he is dangerous and undefeated so he's no pushover in saying that i reckon Joshua KO's him in about 5,setting off the hype train full stream ahead
Cant wait

Martin is here for the big payday, he knows he ain't staying at the top long and wants to cash in quick, I will be surprised if it goes more than 3 round, probably less than 3 minutes. Joshua is going to bust Martin up and quickly.

To be honest, it looks like he doesn't actually have much self belief.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Charles Martin (c) - April 9th 2016
AJ could win inside one if he wants to, but even his recklessness in the Whyte fight and the fact that Martin seemed happy to do nothing for three rounds in his last fight I think AJ will probably come in with a view to being patient and not taking any punches he doesn't need to. AJ in rounds 3-6 without getting hit.

watched the gloves are off thing and cringed through most of it, although at the end they stood up and faced off and was surprised at how much bigger joshua was than martin which made me add joshua ko 1 to my bet list ! i may be wrong but size wise it looks like joshua can just walk through the champ despite the southpaw element.

They've brought over the most unlikely world champ as you're going to find, absolute cannon fodder for Joshua. The hapless Martin must know he's being thrown to the wolves: lined up to be knocked off and forgotten in double quick time.
As for the confidence that winning a world title can bring, you can discount that here, as Martin knows he won it on an absolute fluke. His record looks very padded, so presumably he's not met a puncher like Joshua before. A few crashing right hands and he's likely going to sink like a ship holed below the water line.
And the rest of the card looks like an easy night's work for Eddie's other boys too.

I watched the Gloves are off earlier too and like most cringed my through listening to Martin say nothing remotely interesting then stopping through saying nothing remotely interesting to take a slow sip of water,Joshua was Joshua, more relaxed than the Whyte one but same as every other interview he's done before or since
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Charles Martin (c) - April 9th 2016
Watching the behind the ropes Martin seems in pretty good shape for this

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Charles Martin (c) - April 9th 2016
Martin is surely one of the weakest HW champs ever. I still see this as a fight between two relative novices who both took up boxing later in life, never boxed as juniors and still look slightly awkward and uncomfortable at times.
Martin is getting KO'd here, and it might be in the first 3 rounds, no doubt about it. Dillian Whyte showed huge resilience, determination and heart and that only got him so far. We've seen nothing in Martin's career to suggest he has that in his bank.
Good luck to Martin, he seems like a good guy but unfortunately I don't think he's got a chance against AJ.
