Three rounds.... Ehhh... To be expected from a set-up opponent.... But probably not a good idea for GGG to go after Canelo anymore.... Maybe a fight with Billy Jo Saunders would be interesting.

The power always reappears....as long as there's not an A lister in the opposite corner.

Not seen it yet.
Sounds like GGG didn't do much to enhance himself.
He doesn't take enhancements the Khazak ladies say. He pounds pretty good without them... he he.

Jut saw the 1st round.
GGG needed to come close and his shots were weak slow and predictable, I'd say he won the round though.

GGG looks old. He will win this fight but he looks like a shell of a fighter. Matter of time considering his style.
He tried to box differently which may be a mistake. After a 25-year career, his body already knows to do moves which are optimal for him and not somebody else.

GGG's body attack early in the 2nd provoked a response from Rolls that backed GGG up, GGG's right and left to the body toward the end of the round was effective.

In the 3rd GGG is trying to overwhelm Rolls with power at close range, lot of head and shoulders flying around from GGG if you know what I mean.
GGG goes straight up the middle with a jab straight right combination to assure his dominance in the boxing field, he makes it look easy at times but it's slow and he wins the round.

Rolls gives it a shot with a light overhand right in the 4th then bails completely.
GGG throwing punches full on and ends it with left,

Same could be said of Canelo. Same could be said of most barring heavyweight.

Its very true
Its rare to fight at the top level and not have a good chin. Thats why khan was such an interesting watch. Ive never seen a fighter with that bad of a chin fight at the top level for so many years

Golovkin expectedly showed no changes in his style despite the new coach and promises. He is closing to his 40s and it's good for him, that he is just still there. Cause he must fight Canelo for the 3rd time and KO him, while he still have a capability to do it. Rolls was a waste of time, which had been clear since the fight announcement. Now Golovkin must waste no time.

no chance ggg would ever stop canelo, in 24 rounds canelo was at worst just minorly buzzed only 1 time for a split second (a right to the temple in the rematch)
if anyones getting stopped its ggg
they should fight different ppl. canelo vs charlo and ggg vs andrade or something

Well, maybe Golovkin should fight some another opponent, but it must be a decent one, not some no name.
And yeah, Golovkin isn't likely to KO Canelo, but he must try it as hard as he can, if they meet again, cause it will be his only chance of winning. It has been proven not once, but twice.

It's his only chance to win - gamble big. I think that's the only version of the fight most of us want to see.
Get back in the gym and make the new style stick. GGG's speed and punch variety was great but he immediately reverted back his old style once Rolls connected.
The closest any of them came to getting a stoppage was Golovkin but all of the GGG /Jacobs/ Canelo matchups needed judges, and all of them have some measure of controversy attached.
Remarkably though even at 37 GGG remains one of the most feared boxers in the world.

Why not for him to remain a one of the most feared boxers? He has never been literally beaten. His career wasn't much consuming for him, cause he was competing mostly in a pretty weak era. So he has a lot left in. And his power will always remain with him.
I think, his only chance of winning Canelo is to use his strong sides as much as he can. He tried to box in the 2nd bout, he was robbed. He should go at Canelo even more aggressively, than in the 1st fight. Now he has nothing to lose.

Everyone knows that Gingerhead is gifted three rounds to start any fight. It is simply accepted as normal at this point.
It is simply accepted that he get the nod if he does not get KTFO.
Mexicans know this as well as everyone else. That is why he is not rated higher on most Mexicans’ ATG list. They know he has lost to more than FMJ.
Gingerhead would be more highly respected if he had fought 3G sooner, and he had avenged a tough first fight loss to him, rather than aging him like beef and still require being gifted the first fight.
There is still unfinished business with them, similar to pre-Planquiao.

Oscar and Canelo call the shots. Just like Andy Ruiz.
After Golovkin went the extortion rout last summer in demanding a ridiculously high percentage of the purse for the second fight, don't expect GBP to placate Golovkin's whims this time.
They haven't forgotten. So Gokovkin will certainly get no favors from those who now control the belts.

There won’t be any percentage splits this time. They’ll probably both get a guaranteed figure. And then maybe a bit more on top based on subs.

I think it was your post yesterday that indicated that Golovkin was paid $2 million for the Rolls fight. New York commission figures?
You said it was probably in the neighborhood of $15 million. I suppose you based it on the $100 million contract divided by 6.
But it's likely that DAZN isn't paying Golovkin a blanket $15 million + for every fight. It might very well be just $2 million for the lightly regarded Rolls but more in the neighborhood of $30 million for a Canelo fight.
Canelo's contract called for $365 million for 11 fights (about $33 million per fight) but he was reportedly paid quite a bit less for the Fielding bout. Maybe half. Figure he would be guaranteed $50 million for a Golovkin matchup.
And yes, there are additional incentives in their contracts based on increased subscription rates.
