nah brook was done.
He didn’t look done at all. He was still defending himself when the ref jumped in. Not seen the rest of the fight but it looked a soft stoppage, was he hurt earlier?
He was knocked down a few seconds before that. Done
Very good stoppage, quick but fair, Brook was done, its the refs job to save a fighter from uneccessary damage when they are in that state, that is exactly what happened here.

Just seen the stoppage. Not seen anything else so perhaps I’m wrong but that was one of the softest stoppages I’ve ever seen, he wasn’t in much trouble.
Did something happen earlier? Brook was defending himself? Looked really soft. I’m no Brook fan either.
He was in a lot of trouble, didn’t know where he was, bud landed 3 or 4 shots high on his head, kell was one clean shot away from serious damage
He was not done watching this, he’s literally still defending himself form and onslaught, at no point watching that did I expect the ref to stop it.
I thought he almost turned away at one point, he looked almost defenceless to me mate, if bud had been given 10 more seconds to give himself a bit of space and pick a shot it could’ve been a nasty outcome.

Brook took a huge right on the ropes with the knockdown. he never recovered from that.
Basically a jab that hurt him originally. Crawford just on another level entirely.
Ricky Burns probably gave Crawford his closest fight so far?

But he wasn’t unable to defend himself, he wasn’t limp, he was thrown into the ropes from the shots and still had his hands up. You’re right it could have turned out badly, lots of things could, and I’m not normally one to criticise a stoppage but that didn’t seem quite there yet to me. I don’t like seeing fighters taking unnecessary punishment but he didn’t seem incapable of defending himself to me.
I didn’t think he’d win anyway so it doesn’t matter I suppose but it looked a little soft to me. This is a title fight afterall.

He did have his head down towards his body
Hands up defending himself, he wasn’t ragged or struggling, they weren’t huge shots either.
Having not seen the entire fight it’s hard to properly gauge but that looked soft for a world title fight.
Wait until you can view the slow mos, its more obvious then when seen from the various angles. Brook was finished, not defending himself.

Ive never been a Brook fan, thought he spent his career waiting to fight Khan for megabucks. There was a period where I thought he could have fought several WWs and sorted the division out. I think he waited too long.

Okay. Maybe. Perhaps it’s just a poor angle but looking at that I never felt he was in danger. I’ll comment when I see the other angle.

Someone mentioned Khan, I rewatched the Prescott destruction the other day, that had to be one of the worst non-stoppages of all time. I know he was the star but the lad could barley walk at the end. Horrible to watch.

Burns performance against Crawford not looking too bad now, after all these years. Certainly one of Crawfords most competitive fights that comes to my mind.

that lithuanian guy shoulda gotten credit for a kd vs tel, that was prob the biggest moment anyone had vs him. gamboa won argably the first 3 rounds and buzzed him later on right before being stopped. burns won some rounds and was never in too much trouble

Yeh, Burns was the experienced one and it was Bud’s first world title challenge. Plus he had to come to Scotland. His loss has aged well, but that wasn’t a prime Bud.

He could have stopped it when Brook fell back in the corner during the count from the kd. It definitely wasn't a late stoppage, but he wasn't getting out of that.

That’s the night I originally joined this forum.
I was watching it at home and was not the phone with a mate saying I’d looked at Prescott’s record and said he’s probably a knock over (he was picked by Khan’s brief new trainer) and just as I was saying this he was on his arse.

3 months later he had arguably the biggest performance of his career, against Gamboa.

I think Khan was made a comment kind of complaining about the trainer picking Prescott in the post fight interview lol

Was just gonna comment on that,as soon as Crawford switched to southpaw brook didnt look as confident as before. Crawford is the real deal,I had Spence as the top 147lber before this but now I think crawford would beat Spence.

Any immediate complaints from Brook? He was done. He just got sent flying over to the ropes by a stiff jab and for a moment seemed to paw at his face/eye socket. GGG ruined him. Time to retire.

Perfect refereeing. Brook was done but not so done that he might get seriously damaged (which some of the people saying the stoppage was soft presumably want?).

Brook was totally done, didn't know where he was. Hopefully he'll cash out now, should have retired after the Spence fight really, hasn't looked the same since.
