Read the comments but not seen the fight.
Sounded like Beterbiev went through more than he might have been expecting.
He looked a bloody mess from a forehead cut but otherwise seemed in control from what I saw.
What was your scorecard prior to the last round ?
Give or take what did you have the round score ?
5-3
6-2
7-1
Beterbiev ?
Wouldn't it be good if there was a scoring site, where you could create & join groups, see one anothers scorecards side-by-side, and get an average scorecard for the whole group?
Oh, that's right.....such a thing does exist!

It happens right here.
We have been doing this month in month out for years.
Well over a decade.
Where have you been ?

I propose that Canelo offers Beterbiev the fight at 168.
Beterbiev has to come down in weight.
He won't get a better offer than that will he ?
Probably the only way you'll make the bout happen in the short term.
There's a reason why Canelo seemingly wants to fight anyone under 200lb.... except Beterbiev.

I think Marcus is mentally weak. His move to Derrick James was more so about building confidence, rubbing shoulders with the Charlo bros/Spence, train hard fight easy etc. I would have preferred for him to fight at least 2 more Denis Grachev type opponents before getting in there with Beterbiev. He cannot afford to stand in front of Bet for more than a sec or let his back touch the ropes. He will require constant movement and superior stamina to win rounds. I think once Bet starts touching his body he will unravel. I picked Beterbiev by 8 rd stoppage.
Thanks for the excellent rundown. I think that you are likely to be on target, although I would love to see Marcus execute to near perfection and get the decision victory.
Poor Marcus he actually boxed pretty well in the 8th Rd after getting dropped in the 7th. However the writing was on the wall. I don't think Canelo wants that smoke with Beterbiev after this.
I haven’t seen the entire fight -only the highlights, but I do feel compelled to remind you that Canelo ain’t Marcus Browne.
There are levels. And it’ll take more than brute strength and power to hurt an elusive target, like Canelo, that’s more than capable of returning fire with equally damaging blows.

He fills out around the centre which prevents him from moving up too far.
Canelo shouldn't fight over 168, he's right at Super Middleweight and looks good.

Canelo will beat beterb at 175. But it won’t be first. Mabey this random cruiser weight fight, then Bivol, then smith, , then beterb. By that point canelo will beat beterb with ease.
I’d love it if he fought beterb next, try get him befor he is clearly well past prime, but actively making his path harder is kind of asking a lot of someone.

I respect Canelo for what he does, but the 175 weight obviously isn't an issue considering he fought Kovalev his next fight is at Cruiserweight.
He would never fight Beterbiev, not because of the weight, because he would lose.

Mismatch completed. Beter vs Bivol must be next. Beter vs Smith is also OK, but it's not much intriguing. Beter-Bivol is a one of the absolutely best matchups today.

The Smith fight seems needed only because Smith is beltholding now. But in reality only Beter and Bivol are true candidates for becoming the man at LHW. Bivol already outclassed Smith, Beter will do it too, if they meet. The WBO 'champion' deserved a loss against Vlasov too.

smith would be a top 2 win for bert and another step closer to undisputed. guaranteed fun. bert boxes nothing like vlasov and will be there to exchange. eledier alvarez was better than vlasov and joe pounded him. it doesnt work in perfect order

Seems to me Canelo should stay far far away from Beterbiev for a couple more years.

Wouldn't class this as a mismatch.
Just because it ended up being one-sided

Yet Smith is a quite slow and wide opened fighter, who will be a big stationary target for the faster, more polished and deadly fighter in Beterbiev. Yes, Smith can slug too, but Beter is harsher and better in any other aspect. Joe will be obliterated.

Browne won only a couple of rounds only because Beter was setting the target. In the 3rd Beter started to score effectively, since the cut in the 4th he was providing hell for Browne and it ended as a beatdown.

Well, I expected it to be exactly that one-sided, so for me the fight lived up to its non-intriguing status, that's why I classify it a mismatch.

nah, for fighters at that level a big slugger is more danger to bert, these guys who just run never get his respect. it allows him to come forward and bully them without hesitation
