What you gonna watch live?
I bloody hope they don’t clash.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Aug 2022, 04:23 gotta be j and j for me, are the mains expected to start at the same time? both are really nice fights, hope the timing works out
You said the AJ/Usyk 2 undercard was the worst ever! I dread to think what you thought of the Khan/Brook undercard or that of Fury/Whyte.
I think he’s fighting in just an 8 rounder so it won’t be anyone decent.gregregegg wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 02:44 Not as bad as fury vs Whyte but close. Need a top 50 opponent for Hefron to save it
Shouldn’t be fighting non title 8 rounders if you have a belt.maverick23 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 02:53I think he’s fighting in just an 8 rounder so it won’t be anyone decent.gregregegg wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 02:44 Not as bad as fury vs Whyte but close. Need a top 50 opponent for Hefron to save it
The 3 fights you mention are fine but it’s missing a good co-main. Instead we get a women’s fight that no one will really care too much about over here.Manchester Hitman wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 03:56 I think it’s a very solid card personally;
Essuman - Antweri is a cracking 50/50 British title fight, and could be a war.
Magnesi - Cacace is a solid fight and possibly another 50/50, although I do give the edge to Anto.
Heaney - Flatley - good step up British opponent for Nathan, to see if he’s up to it.
Whilst I’m still getting my head around ‘bird fights” Serrano & Chapman seem to have good opps.
My only real negative is that they didn’t put Heffron in a good fight. There was a lot of talk online about Cullen which would have been ideal. Local Derby and Jack does well on the tickets, so it should have been a no brainier for BrickTop.
I can’t blame Frank for booking Serrano as chief support - he has been watching Eddie and Sky take the easy way out and fill cards with crap women’s fights for the last few years, without jumping on board.maverick23 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 04:45The 3 fights you mention are fine but it’s missing a good co-main. People would have been far more interested in seeing Katie Taylor fight on PPV undercards in the U.K. than seeing a Puerto-Rican/American against an unknown Dane.Manchester Hitman wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 05:50I can’t blame Frank for booking Serrano as chief support - he has been watching Eddie and Sky take the easy way out and fill cards with crap women’s fights for the last few years, without jumping on board.maverick23 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 04:45The 3 fights you mention are fine but it’s missing a good co-main. At least he can say she has just come off the Katie Taylor fight.
Thats my opinion & i am sticking to itmaverick23 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2022, 15:05You said the AJ/Usyk 2 undercard was the worst ever! I dread to think what you thought of the Khan/Brook undercard or that of Fury/Whyte.
I’m on the fence with this one. It’s not awful but it’s not particularly good either. Whilst having Serrano on there probably works from a business point of view with Jake Paul pushing, it’s a fight I’m not bothered about seeing. I also think it’s crazy that Heffron is just in a keep busy fight. Gallagher’s fighters have plenty of those it seems.
Old Frank signed Nicola Adams in 2017 and did nothing for her career as a pro, even though he stated that she had changed his mind about women's boxing. Not sure what he's been up to for the last 5 years, other than watching other promoters show him how it's done to promote women fighters.Manchester Hitman wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 05:50

Non title fights were very common when I started following boxing. Really big names took part in them. Chavez, etc.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 03:50Shouldn’t be fighting non title 8 rounders if you have a belt.maverick23 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 02:53I think he’s fighting in just an 8 rounder so it won’t be anyone decent.gregregegg wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 02:44 Not as bad as fury vs Whyte but close. I know it’s probably cus it’s a quick turnaround and the fact the card is in Manchester would help shift tickets.
But you’d rather see him in there with a decent boxer.
They still fought a couple good fights per year though.mickey1975 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 08:07Non title fights were very common when I started following boxing. Really big names took part in them. They both weighed above the LW limit that fight..mickey1975 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 08:31 Graham Earl lost a non title to Ricky Burns but still defended it in the fight after.
Not sure it’s right to suggest he did nothing with her. He got her to a world title, and she was very inactive due to personal issues.Twinkle Toes wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 07:53Old Frank signed Nicola Adams in 2017 and did nothing for her career as a pro, even though he stated that she had changed his mind about women's boxing. He didn’t do much with her. I genuinely can’t remember one opponent or fight she had. Yet I can name 3 that Shanny Courtenay fought and she had 10% of Adam’s’ ability. It seems when promoting women you need to be pushing a rivalry and get the fighter selling tickets in their own town/city. Frank didn’t really do either with Adams and whilst she won a world title, her pro career was massively underwhelming.Manchester Hitman wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 15:44Not sure it’s right to suggest he did nothing with her.
