Really though Joshua and Wilder on the same card might have been acceptable 5/6 years ago to build a fight but in nigh on 2024, very poor
Top fighters aren't going to fight another top fighter without a proper training camp, this is only 6 weeks away.
The 4 heavies top of the bill will have had a bit of notice.
I wonder if there will be drug testing there?

So, question to the forum, how does this compare to previous great cards that have been put together?
I can remember watching the Don King megacards from the 90's, usually festuring a heavyweight main event backed up by the likes of JCC, Julian Jackson etc. However, a lot of those support fights were usually the Don King fighter walking through a mismatched opponent (Jackson v McClellan being an exception).
I can't remember a card featuring this many current world title holders and former world title holders all on the same bill. My memory is pretty shite nowadays though.
I like the show and I’ll buy it.
There are several one sided fights on paper though. Hrgovic, Bivol, Opetaia and I’d imagine the odds on the main 2 fights are pretty wide too.
I can’t think of a better card but I’d be surprised if there isn’t a better one.
Yeah, there always will be fillers, but at least there's a bit of interest from a Brit perspective for 2 of those mentioned.
I'll definitely be getting it as well.

They dragged DeMori from sideshow obscurity to be Haye's comeback patsy and that was years ago. A putrid choice of opponent for Hrgovic but it is understandable they want to take no risk.

It's basically a Champions League group stage card. Big names against minnows and almost every fight is a forgone conclusion.
I won't be paying for it. It's a slap in the face for boxing fans because the promoters have had the Saudis pants down as they are chucking money around but don't know what they're doing.
At least Zaire got Ali v Foreman. Saudi mega bucks got Joshua v Wallin

Yes it's pretty much the first round of the super six series where the home fighters pick a easier opponent. Hope all the promoters dont pee the Saudi off and be a regular thing while the money lasts

I quite like the card tbf, ordinarily most of these would be main events on the top of a thin undercard, at least they are all on the same bill for one price. Its likely but not a given that AJ, Wilder and certainly Dubois will get a win.

There's some truth there too, but I have happy memories of Don King cards from the 80s and 90s, this feels like one of them.

Some of the fights are trash. But the 2 main events are interesting enough mainly to see if Joshua and Wilder make it through unscathed.
But come on, De Mori and Ellis Zorro are hopeless opponents and Lyndon looks like a lottery winner up there. That’s 3 fights already that will be complete waste of time.

Would it be fair to say that the Saudi are mostly interested in the heavyweight division?
How long until they decide to create their own belt... Or buy one of the alphabets.
Seems they are keen on monopolizing the big boys, which could revitilise the sport as that's where the casuals are.

It'll last, question is how much of the sport will they completely conquer before people realise it's a disaster.
