I thought Wallace could’ve got the 1st with that combo.mickey1975 wrote: ↑03 Oct 2026, 19:32The first. He caught Ben a combo in the first 30 seconds completely ignored by comms. A judge had it 7-5.
They told me Whittaker landed a few jabs to the body but I didn’t see any connect.

I know people would like to see him get flattened, but gee it's a tough watch waiting for that to happen
It wasn't even night time here and I was getting drowsy by about the 6th round.
How do they expect him to generate fans if he is so boring?
How long before he steps up and faces a live motivated opponent?

I’d be interested to know what his weight cut is like. He looks very solid, if he isn’t lying about his height he would have to weigh near 200lb in the ring.

True we only ever fly from there. The parking people are absolutely sound too as I always pre pay for parking but do something divvy and park slightly in the wrong bit and they always sort it.rd350lc wrote: ↑03 Oct 2026, 15:42At least you saved shit loads on the flight cost.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑03 Oct 2026, 15:25You’ve triggered my airport PTSD from when my daughter wanted maltesers at Manchester airport
Flights out of Manchester so much cheaper than others for whatever reason.

Just watched the highlights, God help us, on mute ..then that last round, he was absolutely foocked wasn’t he? Looking at his corner for help.. The Irishman should’ve done more than that, a wasted opportunity to blow up the hype train.
That ring announcer is f*cking awful. “What an absolute pleasure to be here” what exactly is the point of saying this sort of bollox unless you just love the sound of your own voice ..all that performative nonsense. Trying to be such a “character”
With the terrible ass kissing commentary, Great pundits like Barry Jones lost in all the white noise. Hearn just has no idea of what’s good and what terrible.,

I don’t know, it was a bit weird the way Lee chucked that COVID comment in there while trying to imply that Whitaker was too honourable to mention it, as though Whitaker isn’t more than capable of trying to save face himself.Perkin Warbeck wrote: ↑03 Oct 2026, 20:41Do you believe Andy Lee was being honest about that, or was he just making an excuse?

Surely there should have been a knockdown called at some point in that last round. If not a point off. His legs had gone. Seems to be an awful habit he has of holding his opponent round the waist and falling to ground.
Absolute dick in the post fight interview. "Too easy"... knob.

I thought they were all KDs. I should like Whittaker. I'm a Black Country lad too. The opening par has to be: Ben Whittaker's house was burgled the last time he fought in Birmingham, and this time he was nearly mugged in the ring thanks to a torrid 12th round courtesy of Conor Wallace.

Whittaker rubbish yet again
Dont rate him, dont see the hype.

His team won’t take him anywhere near Bivol, as we all know. Very clear to see why he’s been so carefully managed and still fighting at a relatively low level, needs to be handled with kid gloves,

Out of the first 7? Rounds 1, 5 and 6 were close and I gave 1 and 6 to Wallace.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑03 Oct 2026, 18:30.... and correct. Which rounds did Wallace win?
The Terlizzi scorecard (115-113) was okay, Wallace should have won the fight with knockdowns called in the final round.
Loughlin and McCann are a disgrace, just like the commentary team.
I expected Whittaker to stop Wallace early but he made a lot of fundamental mistakes against a pretty poor opponent and almost got knocked out.

As for the fight, terrible performance by both. Wallace did nothing in the first 10 or so rounds. He fought very conservatively and gave himself no chance to win. He was terrified of being countered so didn't open up. Whitaker, who fought AT A SNAILS PACE, was gassed very very badly indeed. That is just a very bad look to be gassing under those conditions.
I still think Wallace is terrible. Which makes this performance even worse from Whitaker.
This one was worse than the Cameron exposure because this time he wasn't pushed at any pace before he gassed.
Whitaker is going nowhere.
Re: Ben Whittaker vs. Conor Wallace | DAZN - 3 October 2026
If he called the KDs and called for the holding, it wouldn’t have been enough to get it for Wallace on the cards. I honestly think the ref was trying to give Wallace every chance of a proper stoppageEzzard wrote: ↑04 Oct 2026, 03:28I thought they were all KDs. I should like Whittaker. If there is life changing money on the table then they will take it. That is how careers are engineered these days. Look at Yarde, fight binmen for a pittence and then stop up and get very well paid for world title shots that you are out of your league in.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑04 Oct 2026, 05:15 His team won’t take him anywhere near Bivol, as we all know. I think we have to look at the first Cameron loss in context now.
He clearly was looking for a way out of that one and found it. It looks like Cameron made a big mistake by starting too fast last time trying to put it on Whitaker too early and ran into a counter while Whitaker was fresh. Poor tactics now in hindsight. Needed the Joe Gallagher lose-the-first-6-rounds-doing-nothing strategy.

No point losing to Willie Hutchinson when you can lose to Bivol for better money.
It was probably the thinking behind Yarde fighting binmen and then stepping up about 20 levels to world title fights. Then back to the binmen to get some hype going for the 20 levels jump again for a few quid. Then back to square one again for another one.
Managed to get paydays for Kovalev, Beterbiev and Benavides fights. But I think Whitaker would even be doing well to get past the likes of Lyndon Arthur
