Jake Matlala vs Michael Carbajal
a good one IIRC
Yeh solid fight mate, Carbajal stopped on cuts to both eyes in 9th which is never satisfactory but still Matlala was immense for a 35 year old Light Flyweight

Iran Barkley vs Gerrie Coetzee
Always wanted to see that but never got round to it, how was it? I heard it was a pretty good fight for what it was - two auld sluggers way way past their prime.
Slow plodding affair and of course a bad fight. At least they were both old and washed up, not some young gun beating the crap out of an old ex champ. Sad fight really, but I had to watch it.

I've seen the Ali fights, Frazier, Foreman, Patterson, Terrell, Folley, Bonavena and Mathis,. Jerry Quarry is the first guy I've seen Chuvalo beat

if you wanna call that a "win"
btw what were the score-cards going into the last round ?
No idea but I thought initially the count was quick because if we're going by timekeeper it was but the refs count looked more legit when I counted back myself

One had it 3-3 and the other two had it 4-1-1 for Quarry.

I remember watching this. It was broadcast on the Pay Per View along with Carl Williams-Trevor Berbick.
Classic case of not judging a book by it's cover. Mike Williams looked in great shape and Douglas was as usual not so much. But Douglas knew how to fight and won easily.
