why is he dressed so smartly (photo-shoot)? They normally look more scruffy than that, he looks like he's just stepped off a Navy boat if it wasn't for the black shoes (and the fact his colour would have probably been a barrier).

Yeah, he's certainly not dressed for training. The shorts could be navy issue, the socks too. Maybe he was asked to pose and they never cut the bottom half off, the same way Demspey was photographed on a shipyard in overalls but had his patent leather dress shoes on.

I thought the same thing, but he definitely looked to have more like a Lightweight body to me than a Middleweight or Light Heavyweight body. So I agree, the build looks all wrong. He does definitely resemble Charles in the face though no doubt.

I didn't think ya did for a second my friend so no problem... I came accross the Olympic team for that year and it was actually Floyd Patterson that caught my eye and then seeing the others got me thinking :P
