Groves is definitely an interesting fighter to watch. I think the Groves vs Abraham fight would provide a lot of the same drama as the Froch vs Groves fight.

Groves outworking, and outboxing Abraham early, but possibly wearing down and being in danger of being stopped late. Abraham has been known to get some late KO's on more than a few occasions in his career, and has a very conversative patient style.

Anthony Joshua mentioned he was fighting on the 12th July earlier. I'm nine beers in, can somebody remind me which undercard that is on?

I agree to an extent but if there's fights he wants (Vegas) why not have a swan song? I would love to see him fight Degale but that isn't happening in Vegas, and I don't think the Chavez Jr fight will be as big as a Degale fight here, but who knows? I think he has one or two left in him. Chavez Jr, then Degale and then a final crack at Ward?

Chavez Jr. and Degale are two big, big fights that I would favor him in.

Froch vs GGG would be epic, but I'd pick GGG to KO Froch.

Seriously though, he can't be knocked. People pay down his actual ability but surely that elevates his achievements even more? You hear things like flat footed, clumsy, slow, crude, when it comes to Carl but he has some great wins over some top fighters. The best way to describe Carl is awkward. Exactly how I see it. When you witness a fighter like Carl Froch time and again fight opponents with better boxing fundamentals: better balance, quicker hands, sharper reflexes and more; and yet overcomes them through grit and determination - it does make his achievements all the more impressive.

A lot of people don't like his personality, but this is boxing. Froch's true identity is revealed every time he enters the ring. For that I have the mightiest respect.

You never know, but I feel certain that three more big fights would be asking too much of his body.

It almost always comes down to the chin in the end, doesn't it? Wlad's good enough to be a modern exception.

Yes and no. Mayweather and Hopkins have good chins but they never get hit (Mayweather especially). If Mayweather had a poor chin, he'd still beat Alvarez and co hands down

I would love to see that fight, and Abraham deserves it. I have never liked him much but he just keeps coming back. I would favor Groves by decision.

They've been hit hard enough to down lesser chins, though. It can be done, but as I try to think back through all the great champions, it seems a top chin is worth as much as many other attributes combined.

I've seen Mayweather take a couple of big shots so his chin is definitely decent, but his ability to take so few flush shots is one of his biggest strengths.

Abraham looks like a great fight that he Sauerland deal gives Groves.
AA is tough with a tight defence, so Groves will have to box at his best.

To be fair FM has an amazing chin but what I mean if Groves had Mayweather defensive skills, regardless of his chin, fighting Froch would be easy work

Of course it would, but is don't think Groves' chin is that bad, it was a great shot, he'd have stopped the majority of the division with that right hand.

Yeah the Vegas dream doesn't seem so large after tonight and versus DeGale would fill Wembley again but Carl is a very rich man with a family, set up for life but would like to see him walk away on top with faculty's intact

You're not wrong about Corley, he did buzz Floyd. One of Mayweather's more aggressive performances.
