I can't believe that you've never seen fights like Eubank/Watson, Lewis/Bruno, Hamed/Johnson, Calzaghe/Reid, etc. . . . It's not like we're in the era of hunting down VHS tapes in the classifieds. YouTube has been around for a decade; and you've always seemed like a man with a lot of time on his hands.

This thread isn't meant for sad little braggarts who've seen a few classic fights more than others and want to undermine them because of it.

I was trying to do something positive and encourage learning about British and Irish boxing history.

Fortunately until now we've not had to deal too much with your type, hopefully this is just a little blip.

I struggle to see the issue people have with a thread about British and Irish boxing, being in a British and Irish boxing forum, being commented on and contributed to by British and Irish boxing fans.

I'm quite enjoying it, others are participating & discussing. People are learning about fighters they might not otherwise have known about.
Yes I've seen Lewis vs Bruno and plenty of Joe Calzaghe. But I've learned a bit about Walter McGowan, Howard Winstone, John H Stracey, Alan Minter and the Finnegan brothers.

I know exactly what you're trying to do with this thread. It's the work of a man so self-absorbed you haven't been able to watch historic fights that are referenced on a daily basis on a forum of which you have been a member for eleven years.

All your posts in all your time here have been made to draw attention from the subject to yourself. This thread is the closest you can get within forum rules to creating a thread that's actually centred around you. The title might as well be: 'Horse... On Horse.'

BUT (and it may be a bit complicated here, so do read carefully) the point I made to Horse is correct THIS account WAS banned from 23rd - 30th ... what I did or didn't do in those seven days is of no relevance to the point in hand.

The ferocity you exhibit in defending him and his ... 'work' really is quite alarming.

So ... In brief:

The first problem I have with this (and related threads) appearing on the Brit & Irish forum is quite simple, it doesn't belong here it belongs in ...... BOXING HISTORY, this subforum is for 'current affairs' as it were, not cliched old fights the majority of us have seen dozens of times.

It's getting to be a pain in the rear scrolling up and down the page looking for recent news, which is why I (and most others I suspect) come here, if you want to wallow in nostalgia go to BOXING HISTORY.

The second problem is the simple fact that this 'project' is the mastermind of the most tedious, petty, pedantic, argumentative TROLL in the history of boxing fora .... HORSE.

He asks for suggestions/discussion/input and if (like me sadly) you dare suggest something HORSE turns it into a source of conflict and debate.

Example: HORSE suggested a Herol Graham fight would be fitting tribute as Herol is sadly unwell at the moment, he selected Graham vs McCallum, a dreadful choice frankly.

I thought one of Herols (many) victories would be a more fitting tribute and suggested the sublime performance against Chris Johnson, HORSE predictably disagreed and stated that Herols career was best known for his defeats (or words to that effect) I then had to endure a whole page of atypical HORSE bickering as he completely refused to accept any suggestion other than his own.

Sick of his nonsense I myself started a Graham vs Johnson thread, it was very well received the Graham vs McCallum thread that HORSE posted was totally ignored until he started pleading for people to post in it.

Like his lamentable P4P 'Rankings' he posts here (and elsewhere) each month, it's just an attention seeking ploy, and an opportunity for HORSE cause some friction.

PIGG can be amusing in short bursts, but the longer they stay the more obvious their unpleasant, bullying nature becomes.

In all seriousness though, if you have seen enough of our discussions on here, going back far enough, you will know that I have spent as much time arguing with Horse as anyone, I've simply tired of trying to tell him that Bellew and Murray should be further down the list and have given up, he doesn't listen no matter how hard you bang the drum.

If I am indeed an "Alt of Horse" then Horse really has some real fornicating issues:
1. he argues with himself,
2. He is currently discussing himself in the third person and more worryingly, doing so in a critical manner and
3. He has considerably different posting style to myself, so he is not only possibly Autistic as some have suggested, he is displaying signs of multiple personality disorder.

I defend the 52 week challenge because I enjoy it and as you may have noticed, participate quite regularly to it.
In all honesty I couldn't give a hoot what forum it's on, if it gets moved to the history forum, where I post regularly, I'll contribute to it there. But I honestly feel it is relevant here.
I also have no problem with his monthly top 30 as a concept, where I do have issue is his stubborn refusal to budge in the face of sometimes uniform disagreement of the entire board with his decisions. Truth be told, I'd like someone else to run with it if it is to continue. But it's like a mainstay of the board, Boxrec B & I forum wouldn't be the same without the monthly top 30.

I, like you, find his posting style argumentative, abrupt, at times obnoxious and fairly challenging to deal with.
I don't think he is a troll however, I just think that's his character (or at least his on-line version anyway).
A troll comes on the internet with the sole intention of finding an arguments and spoiling others enjoyment of a forum or social media, that for me doesn't quite fit with Horse, I just think he's a bit of a dick when you don't agree with him.
