Everyone seems to have forgotten, perhaps understandably, Klitschko's nine year reign. This is a man who was afraid to take chances against seriously awful opponents - but now he's going to pick apart Anthony Joshua? I'm not hypnotised by the Sky/Hearn hype, but it's obvious Joshua in terms of attitude, fitness and power is leagues above Tony Thompson, Sam Peter, Ruslan Chagaev, and rest of Klitschko's fatty hordes. He was petrified of a Tyson Fury counter, as he was Ibragimov and Haye, but he's going to remain calm and composed with Joshua's fists cocked and ready to fly? It would be very odd for a man to alter his MO this late in his career.

I'm sure his plan is to brilliantly pick apart and punish Joshua, but at 41 versus a man his own size he won't be so evasive and I see him being put to sleep before he can execute any strategy. The number of power shots he throws might be very few.

Just wAnt to say thank you to Tyson fury for getting people to bet on wlad. Joshua by stoppage is now a very nice 4/6. Probably just going to go large on the stoppage and use that as a hedge on betting the first few for josh. Maybe first 4.

It's hard to disagree with this.

But then look at who Joshua has fought. His best win is Dillian Whyte who is British level. Went life and death with Delboy who couldn't land a glove on a 2nd gear Tyson Fury.

Wlad could have have 5 years out and dismantled Dillian Whyte in 6 and Vitali could have a 2 month camp right now and do the same.

That's the intrigue no one has a clue. We will know very early I think.

Good points from both posters. There are als rumours of (as yet) unsubstantiated stories of Joshua having a weak chin.

The stat that really stands out for me though is: Joshua - 44 to rounds (none against a world class opponent.) Wlad - 358 rounds, many more rounds against world class opponents than Joshua has even boxed (58, just counting Povetkin, Fury (albeit a loss), Haye and Peter.)

But Breazeale was throwing back, Wach and Jennings weren't. I don't think any of this will have any bearing on tonight.

Also, do you really think he was fighting Povetkin at a fast pace? He initiated something like 300+ holds. He was actively spoling Povetkin's pace, which was hardly Manila in its ferocity.

The only sprightly, fast-paced fights I can recall Wlad engaging in were Puritty, TOS and Brewster, two of which were KO losses, the other a looming KO loss called off just in time.

How on earth was haye/wlad a fast pace? They stared at each other for 12. Wlad sucked slightly less.

The last time I can really remember Wlad going at a high pace was the first Brewster fight, and Wlad gassed out. I cant even remember how many years ago that was now either.
