Yeah, I think AJ was exposed more than Ruiz is now some world beater. We've seen enough of Ruiz to know what he is about. AJ is sort of an enigma right now for me. I don't know what to make of him just yet. He's way more vulnerable than people thought.
Wilder was exposed multiple times. Can Fury handle pressure of a hungry fast opponent for 12 rounds?

Fury would be running and jabbing, but Ruiz is fast enough to get inside where he has chances.
Fury's a lot slippier and defensively cuter than AJ is

After he was knocked down again in the 7th, Joshua checked out mentally.
His confidence was shot and you could look at his face and see he was thinking "no mas."
Joshua dug down deep against Klitschko when he encountered adversity but he couldn't pass a gut check tonight.
I wonder if he can regain that confidence in the future or if Ruiz ruined him.
Saw the same thing you did. He came in looking bored and calm, and showed a lack of will to win.

People are going to go nuts over a result but need to evaluate the events that took place to get there. This wasnt Ruiz exposing Joshua over the course of the fight. This was AJ recklessly endangering himself by getting in extended wild exchanges in order to secure a KO, in turn eating a massive shot that would turn the fight upside down and he would never recover from. It took his legs away immediately. Thats what can happen to your body when you dont take an opponent seriously in training. He may look like Adonis but I seriously doubt his cardio was on point in this camp. Against fighters he respects AJ is never getting that reckless and putting himself in such a dangerous position. Understand this.
Don't kid yourself. AJ exposed his chin, which isn't very good. He also has no idea what to do when he's hurt. Ruiz isn't such a massive hitter. It was a combination of several things this evening. Go back and watch. He didn't eat any one massive shot. He got stunned and then got hit over and over again. Stunned by a punch no greater than what Ruiz hit Parker with or many other of his opponents. The myth is simply busted. Long live the king.

Can he slip for 12 rounds under pressure?

Fury already proved he can. With his deep war chest of skills, his albatross reach, and his invincible will, Ruiz would get banged and turned and dizzy for 12 rounds.

For the next few days it's Ruiz. He beat the man tonight. Then all the threads will turn to what's next.

Even if he doesn't look at the way he got up against Wilder, his chin is better than AJs

Was there an automatic rematch clause in the contract in the event of a Ruiz win?

Good question. I would think the champ always gets the rematch clause. And is it immediate, or can Ruiz fight someone else first.

He better ask Hearn if he's uncertain. If he's still on speaking terms with his promoter.
